Can’t believe Netflix cut this iconic scene from the show…

A Tip from a Domesticated Queer: Brush your teeth

Brush your teeth. Wash your face. Take a shower. Eat food.

Sometimes life is absolute and utter shit. Sometimes it’s hard to get out of bed. I get it, I’ve been there. With that said, still try, as hard as possible to brush your teeth, wash your face, take a shower, and eat food. Depression doesn’t have to lead to other health problems, and getting out of bed and taking care of yourself will help you feel better anyway. Taking care of yourself means you are surviving, and you can continue to survive despite depression.

So.

Brush your teeth.

Wash your face.

Take a shower.

Eat food.

A photo is attached of a power strip with an extremely charred end. Part of the power strip's wire is also charred. End ID]

My husband, an electrician, told me I have to reblog this.

For clarification's sake, is this true everywhere? I ask because I know that different countries have different quality home electricity provision; American home electricity Ain't Great compared with most of Europe, for example. In Wales I have never heard of this being a Thing, but our electricity comes in 240V flavour, so possibly the higher current naturally avoids this issue?

My British husband (not an electrician but electrician-adjacent) says yes this is true in the UK as well - anything that uses a lot of power should be plugged directly into the wall rather than an extension lead

Good to know, thank you!

*gets up to replug space heater*

Do you know how weird it feels to casually make future plushie plans and feel like I’m thriving with my art career while ICE is threatening to go door to door for “immigrants” and “criminals” (visibly brown people) and I have to carry proof I’m American with me every time I go out? I say this specifically here because I know it’s a majority white American website. Like I already thought of who I would call and go stay with if I were to be deported lol. I’ve soothed myself with “maybe it wouldn’t be so bad as long as I don’t get shot at or disappear”. And it’s just annoying because my white peers do not have shit like this weighing on their mind, they can choose to just fucking draw

I cannot emphasize how much I’m literally a US citizen who speaks good english (with an accent, but it’s something) and these are the thoughts I’m having. Imagine how it feels when you’re actually an immigrant and you can barely parse what the masked trigger-happy asshole with a gun is screaming at you.

Bagged lunch

incredibly minor detail but I wanted to see how big quail eggs are compared to rats and found a really great stock photo shoot of a bunch of young fancy rats just really getting into them. The best day of their young lives.

as a german kid i Used to wonder why our radio stations like to play the american national anthem so much until a friend explained to me that Country Roads Take Me Home is not in fact you guys’ national hymn…

That song came out like a month ago, how old are you

I think what really makes Over The Garden Wall stick in my brain boils down to how it says, "despair is a liar and not nearly as powerful as it pretends"

the show's climax is weighty and good for a lot of reasons (big fan of how pathetic the Beast looks in the moment we see it in the light) but the bit with the lantern is my favourite. You kill the Beast by doing the thing it said would destroy you! If you chain yourself to what it says is necessary, you'll never get free! You have to risk total ruin, look into the darkness and then you can kill it!
