Reblogging this to give you all a link to Life After People, a really good docu-series about what would happen to the planet if everyone died, complete with accurate scientific breakdowns.
yaoi isn't all it's cracked up to be
a lot of yaoi seems to revolve around sweet, cuddly buttsex unfortunately a lot of yaoi seems to treat it exactly the same as vaginal sex, sometimes even asserting that butts have hymens that need to be broken but all of it is okay because it’s so cute!!! right? wrong

Anonymous asked: Out of curiosity, what are the preferred brushes you like to use?
I have a ton of brushes, some made by myself and some downloaded from all around the web. These are my favorite and most used ones. I thought it would be best to show them with example pictures.
–
Hard Round
For sketching, coloring, lineart. Great for blending colors. Spacing: 1%, Minimum diameter: 33%, Minimum Opacity jitter: 23%
Pencil brush
For sketching, lineart, coloring, quick doodles etc. It has a nice texture and is good for adding details. You can find it from the Stumpy Pencil blog.
Lineart brush
I made this for lineart specifically. Basically it’s the same as the default hard round brush, except Spacing is set to 1%. That enables smooth strokes no matter how large the brush size is. It’s also good for coloring.
Block-In
Large brush with texture, best for backgrounds. Also good for shading and blending colors. Get it from Ctrl+Paint.
Hard Square
Amazing for coloring all sorts of surfaces and textures. Smooth skin, shiny weapons, fluffy clouds etc. Made by Ben Hickling.

I put them all here for you to download and try out. I hope they are helpful!

I’m really horrible at giving advice on these things haha. for one; USE REFERENCES. I tend to look at Supra because uhgfh god I love them. And i prefer the ‘high-top’ look most.I tend to focus on the shoes shape first. When i start drawing shoes they tend to look like uggs originally and i work on curving them out.
what makes sneakers pop i find are details in the laces and the ‘design’ on the shoe itself. Rather than just something flat, if you look at a lot of shoes you see the seams and lines through the whole things. Try different shoe shapes when drawing because there are a bunch of styles that look more appealing than some mutated sock which i used to just scribble on feet before I got some weird.. shoe… love. this wasn’t helpful at all im sorry fdskljfdksjsfd Horrible advice now rebloggable by request. I’m sorry it’s just one view
oh man yes! i really hope more people start drawing awesome sneakers too I’m so tired of seeing every character in chuck friggin taylors and also I have kind of a “thing” for excellent shoes :B
So my friend Night expressed a general desire for help with profiles, and I figured I’d go ahead and whip this up! I’m no anatomy master or anything, but this is stuff that helps me quite a bit, so I figured I’d share… even if I have no idea how helpful it actually is. Writing tutorials is hard! Ah well, I hope it can be of some use.

ARIGATOU……………
hey I cant tell, is your non-damaged Davesprite wing curved? it kinda looks that way, how'd you get it so spot on like that with the shape and feathering? any advice?
Yes it is! Both the wings are curved because of how I made the frame. I used a lot of references of actual bird wings while I was working for the frame especially, I recommend looking at photos and videos of the skeletal structure of a bird’s wings and bending the wire to that. Pay attention to how a bird’s wings flap and fold, a bird’s wings are not flat, even when they are fully opened. How your frame is built will depend on if you want the wings spread or folded. I opted for folded since I was doing the damaged wing and I didn’t want the weight to be too off-balanced.
For the feathering, I’m going to just be repetitive and again say my biggest recommendation is to study actual bird feathers. The secondaries should be much longer than the coverts, and the primaries even longer than that. Find some good reference photos of a bird with wings in the general shape you’re trying to achieve, be it open or closed, and lay out your feathers to match before you glue them down.
Hope that helps!

Keeping this… forever…
Excuse me as I copy this down. :o
keeping for reference
