Alara is a detective! Her assistant is Borsko, a faun. He’s just out of university and was not at all expecting secretarial work to involve so much gore. Alara’s bird, Tac, can tell when people are lying (this is canon lol it is in the item tooltip). Magical dragon murder mysteries aren’t super different from mundane murder mysteries when it comes to motive, but the methods can be a bit more… unusual.
tv pitch: a completely average workplace sitcom except that it’s established at the end of the pilot that it takes place on the 90th floor of the world trade center in 2000. every episode the date is shown, just to build the sense of impending doom. the show is otherwise a completely generic the office ripoff. the intro sequence is a montage of airplanes taking off.
at the end of the second season, we reach 9/10/01. after six months of waiting, season 3 drops. now it’s 9/12/01. nothing has happened. the characters carry on as normal. fans of the series go insane. the show never explains what happened, and continues to pretend it’s a normal sitcom.

Pavona and Panavo are dancers at the Grand Canopy Theater in Gladeveins City! They’re one of the regular acts at the theater, but it also hosts plays and operas and performing mages and all sorts of fun stuff. It’s one of the biggest indoor spaces in the Viridian Labyrinth, which doesn’t tend to have a lot of large indoor spaces. The dancer couple are well-known and well-liked local celebrities, and they often host very well-attended parties at their villa. They don’t go on tour to other territories often, but every year they make the trip to Wispwillow for Trickmurk Circus festivities.
