there is something so incredibly delicious about a character in a ≥10 years long one-sided secret crush, being so completely devoted to someone they see as so far above them that they don't even expect their actions to be noticed; so far beyond their reach that not even the shadow of the idea of their feelings possibly being returned has ever crossed their mind, just being content with making their life a bit more comfortable and looking at their back from afar... and then not only are those feelings reciprocated, but also the other character is forever haunted by the regret of the extra time together they could have had but lost; all the pain they could have saved the other from if only they'd looked back earlier...

It's bad that they lied about noah and finn both carrying emotional weight this season but what's even more fucked up is that they only had the shittier actor carry it
