theres a lot of anti-fur-farming sentiment online and it misses the point of why critical consumption matters. i think fur farming and leather is fine actually because those are natural materials and the alternative is synthetics which are plastic and that's worse.

poor treatment of animals is endemic to all agriculture, and villainizing just one kind does nothing to solve the actual problem. Plastic is worse than natural materials in most applications in countless ways, including causing suffering to the environment by way of pollution. plastic is literally made from oil. Going vegan won't stop you from needing to wear clothes and veganism does nothing to improve the welfare of the animals or human beings already in these industries, it's lazy self righteous grandstanding.

it is entirely possible to have ethical agriculture. the solution is reformation and regulation, improving the welfare of laborers and animals. again, all forms of agriculture utilize slavery somewhere in the production line and the alternative to natural materials is plastic and that's worse.
