2nd support person for c section and vaginal births should be standard.

2nd support person for c section and vaginal births should be standard.
The issue
Impacted with the highest c section rates in history. With 1 in 3 birthing women experiencing c section and 1 in 3 birthing women experience birth trauma.
TRAUMA IS AN INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCE AND IS NOT ALWAYS CONNECTED TO PHYSICAL PAIN, MEDICAL INTERVENTIONS OR INJURY.
Every birthing person deserves the right to have two support people minimum with them theatre or no theatre.
Birthing families deserve change and equal rights no matter their path of birth. Your signature can make the change, the voice of the people.
There are a select few private ob’s in my local area that even though their hospital policy states only one support person in theatre however they advocate and allow a second support in. Women shouldn’t need another hurdle like money privilege to ensure a base care standard.
I would love if you can join this movement and help gather as many signatures as possible to have this changed nationally. Also if it’s not something you would need but agree your signature is still needed.

This is so important. We loved your support in our C-section. The photos from our birth, were vital in my attachment journey with him during intense postnatal anxiety and depression. The photos you took helped me feel more connected to my birth and my baby after such a shit pregnancy and a birth that didn’t go to plan. Love this petition!
The moment I had to go into surgery with no one on our team we were both so scared. The second support person is often a support for us both!!!!
