some encanto headcannons, part 4: Julietta

-i saw another person say this, so once I find their user I'll tag them, but Julietta will sometimes dissociate while cooking, and come to later with burns on her hands and wrists

-like Pepa she is so proud of her kids and loves them more than anything, sometimes she gets really worried about them (Mirabel especially) and will be overbearing towards her daughters

-she can sometimes push away their emotions and focus on making them happy instead of confronting what's wrong and helping, she doesn't do this to repress there emotions but it's the only way she knows how from taking care of Pepa growing up, who needs to be calmed down rather than talked to

-she was forced to grow up to fast when she was younger, and while she raised her kids she tried her absolute best to make sure they got to experience an actual childhood before receiving their gifts

-when Louisa got her strength, she knew that everyone would put so much pressure on her to take care of the community, so she especially tried to give her a good childhood before she was forced to start working in the town, she didn't want the same thing that happened to her to happen to her daughter

-she was always the middle ground when Bruno and Pepa fought, this constantly stressed her out and she wished for her siblings to get along, but after Bruno left she found herself missing their dumb arguments and helping them get along

-she was definitely picked on when she was younger when she tried standing up for Bruno, but Pepa was always the most intimidating and would keep everyone from teasing them

-she's very forgiving and never holds grudges, being the first to forgive Abuela after she apologized, but there's still a lot of tension between the two

-before Bruno left, she and him weren't the closest, but after he came back they found themselves talking more and catching up and bringing up old memories

-she loves Augustine so much and finds him perfect even though he's very clumsy, she tells him that Isabela got her "perfection" from him which always makes him blush (she's always teasing him about how she's more charming, he once tried to give her flowers that Isa made, and ended up attracting a load of bees which stung him immediately, Julietta did the same thing once with the same kind of flowers, except it attracted 0 bees)

Two things need to happen for Taylor to get back on form. Leave Travis. I don't care how happy she is, but these 'I love Travis' lyrics are not it. She needs to be cancelled again because this is what happens when the whole industry turns into your yes men.

saintlaurentproblems answered

I don’t think that’s it.

I think maybe making an album while she’s was working on the biggest tour of her life wasn’t the smartest thing to do.

Jonas Brothers should sue, I also hear Lorde’s Yellow Flicker Beat in Elizabeth Taylor and obviously the Jackson 5 in Wood. Not to mention that her own work could be heard for example I Hear Call it what you want it in Honey.

Would any of those people sue? Doubt it. Olivia was the debutant that’s why everyone was so eager to call her out while Taylor is a shark with bunch of psycho soldiers. We also have Breathe In. Breathe Out. by Hilary Duff and as far as I know her team also did noting after Taylor released Paper Rings, or Without You by Lana Del Rey which followed with Taylor releasing Wildest Dreams and Lana also did nothing even tho she likes to talk generally lol

saintlaurentproblems answered

They literally can’t sue her because it would be a PR nightmare and her fans will just attack every one who tries to sue.

I feel like the Jonas Brothers could easily win but do you want to go against Taylor swift? No.

I think it would be funny if they did a mashup of cool and the life of a showgirl/showman on tour lol

She really paid rolling stones to write positive reviews for her lmao. What a fucking joke

saintlaurentproblems answered

Guys I’m going to be real honest with you..

Most articles are bought.

Everyone who wins an Allure Beauty award has to pay $6K-$9K.

So you think articles about music reviews are any different!!???

First three r my fav too. Front half of the album is so much better

This album isn’t bad, but these tracks just aren’t stronger than her other songs — and that’s what pisses me off. I was expecting at least two new bangers. I wanted The Life of a Showgirl to feel raw, sexy, and loud. I get what she was going for, but the concept feels bigger than the song she actually made.

People online keep saying she only makes good songs when she’s miserable, which isn’t true. I just don’t think she pushed herself creatively enough this time. Maybe she’s gotten too big to the point where she doesn’t need acclaim anymore. Or she’s not reaching for other inspirations outside her bubble. She has nothing left to prove to herself. Back in the 1989 era, she was trying to prove she could be a pop artist. Folklore and Evermore proved she was a serious songwriter. But now she knows anything she puts out will sell.

The Life of a Showgirl could have been so much more. It had the potential to be raw, colorful, and electric, but it barely scratched the surface. My vision for this album would have been Material Girl by Madonna, Ain’t No Other Man by Christina Aguilera, Circus by Britney Spears, Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen, or Hung Up by Madonna. I wanted that confident, punchy energy with real bite. It’s previewed throughout the album but there’s nothing that really grabs me from start to finish.

Did you buy anything? I wanted to get the it’s rapturous variant but its sold out lmao

whiskeyswifty answered

I never buy media things before seeing/hearing them, so no. But tbh I don’t buy much physical media for music because it’s just not something I care about. I have a Spotify and I’m fine with that. Also, idk what I’d do with a Taylor swift poster. I have a small apartment and pop culture posters on my walls that aren’t at least stylized or artistically inclined is…not my interior design style let’s just say that. So even if I like the album, buying anything would be very silly for me. The folklore vinyl is on my wall yes but that’s all and it’s a stunning photo with no text and beautifully stylized the way I have it displayed with the records peeking out. Goes really well with my decor and is one of the more innocuous taylor products she’s ever made. This album would have to dethrone that as my de facto favorite to even contend with making it on my wall, and there’s no way it will.

If the past few albums are anything to go by, I’m sure you’ll have the chance to buy variants again. I hope you get the one you want!

fave Max Martin and friends songs with Taylor Swift?

whiskeyswifty answered

i mean everything on 1989 of course, just Max at his best and Taylor really taking Max’s pop style and approach to heart and using that to refine her songwriting. tight, bright, punchy. so satisfying. he has such a great grasp of the economy of language when it comes to songwriting, and of sound tbh. how to create songs that sharply cut through the noise, have a clear musical direction and attitude. and of course the economy of an album, hits only, all meat, no fat.

OF that crop, probably Style because style is one of my top taylor songs of all time. but that’s because of her songwriting and the electric guitar and stuff. so that’s not like a Max Martin joint exactly. I’d say New Romantics is textbook Max, and my favorite of him really flexing. just infectious, rapturous, and was on constant repeat for me when that dropped. Blank Space a close second, for the same reasons. Made Taylor swift impossible to dislike as a musician at least, and if you were around during the Red era, you know how hard that was to do. Completely changed her position in pop culture and we’re still living in a post-Blank Space world.

WANEGBT honorable mention though because of how smooth of a transition that was from country taylor to pop taylor. gotta hand it to Max for being able to make that jump as organic as i think it was/is. while not one i reach for, i never skip it when it comes on and i’m always amazed by how solid it is.
