I just finished HTN and one of the more innocuous lines that hit me like a brick to the chest was Abigail saying to Harrow “Jeanne said to tell Gideon hi.” I keep thinking about Jeannemary in the River, dead and still worrying about the living, wanting Gideon to know that she doesn’t blame her. It’s such a little thing but it completely cracked me open.

motivating yourself to do things by thinking "my blorbo would want me to do this" is much less effective when you know in your heart that your blorbo is operating on a much worse level of self care than you. my blorbo would not care if i brush my teeth or take a shower today. my blorbo eats rocks and wears shirts they found on the floor.

A cel-shaded drawing of Alecto from the Locked Tomb series; a tall, pale white woman who resembles a Barbie doll. She has long pale blonde hair with a curly fringe, and her hair hangs like a curtain and catches on her shoulders and arms. She is wearing a pale grey dress with a slit to the hip exposing one leg, and the dress is low cut in the front. She is also wearing metal shackles around her wrists, neck, and visible ankle - chains hang from all of the shackles, broken at the neck and ankle but connecting her wrists to a metal belt at her waist. She is in the process of stepping out of a Barbie-style pink box, on which is written her name in a Barbie font, the words "I am a hideousness" at the top of the box, and "She's coming out of her cage and doing just fine" as the tagline at the bottom. Instead of a Mattel logo, the symbol of the First house is in a box in the corner - a black skull with a Roman numeral 1 on the forehead. Alecto has one leg, the one exposed, completely out of her box with her foot on a transparent background, making it look like she is stepping onto the dashboard. One arm is raised with her hang gripping the edge of the box, and the other is holding a zweihander greatsword that is resting point-down out of the box, using it as a balancing aid. Her other knee is resting on the slanted edge of the window of the box, her dress bunched up around her knee. Her head is tilted to one side, and only one of her eyes is fully visible thanks to her hair. She is smiling, her mouth slightly open, and her eyes extremely wide. Her eyes are the only thing in the image that is not shaded at all.ALT
