I'm a Fallen Woman, I'm No Angel; But it's Better to Reign in Hell!

Welcome to Chrysaor's Battlegrounds, this is a PvP enabled zone!

If you're a minor or a prude, either keep that to yourself or fuck off. Not picky.

If you're a pervert (affectionate), try @falling-for-fallen-angels (18+ alt)

Name: Chrysaor

Gender: No thanks, I'm full

Age: It's rude to ask a lady that, y'know?

No but really?: Old enough to know better than to tell you. "Age in bio" is for children. Piss off.

My block tag for nsfw is "#a little bit of horny posting. as a treat"

Hate it when TikTok farm cosplayers and cottagecore types say stuff like "I'm not going to use modern equipment because my grandmothers could make do without it." Ma'am, your great grandma had eleven children. She would have killed for a slow cooker and a stick blender.

I’ve noticed a sort of implicit belief that people used to do things the hard way in the past because they were tougher or something. In reality, labor-saving devices have historically been adopted by the populace as soon as they were economically feasible. No one stood in front of a smoky fire or a boiling pot of lye soap for hours because they were virtuous, they did it because it was the only way to survive.

Taking these screenshots from Facebook because they make you log in and won't let you copy and paste:

I still can't believe we tolerated people going "normal people would think you're weird" OF COURSE THEY WOULD, THAT'S WHY I'M IN FANDOM, THE PLACE FOR WEIRDOS. IF I WANTED TO HANG OUT WITH NORMAL PEOPLE I'D GO TO THE LOCAL FAST FOOD RESTAURANT

I used to refuse to look into dnd lore because I don’t like playing dnd but now that I’ve looked into it a lot it’s like okay now I see where everyone is getting their inspirations from. And most of them are probably doing it better than dnd but you know we all have to start somewhere.

The thing about ttrpg lore as opposed to books, tv shows, or video games is that everything needs a mechanical angle. The mechanical angle probably comes before the good storytelling, realistically. Because your players can and will do whatever the hell they want so the important bit is the numbers and the rest is just optional. Obviously you won’t have coherent and good lore in that sort of situation. At least not in comparison to other types of media in my opinion.

I think a lot of obviously-inspired-by-DnD books/games/shows follow a similar motivation as a lot of fanfiction:

"That sure is compelling but also stupid; this Gygax guy is a total hack. I bet I could do better."

This is also true for most of the people writing official DnD lore.

the thing that’s really cool about dungeon meshi’s representation of autism is that Laios isn’t some savant. He’s just a guy with a strong interest. And he gets things wrong because that interest leads him to uncritically consuming biased sources

we need this kind of energy tbh because the autistic savant myth is getting too strong here. Being autistic doesn’t mean you’re correct in your information or able to recall it on command. It means that acquiring this information brings you joy
