Reflections of the past
There's no end in sight
How long can I last?
There's no going back
Cant take it back
There's no going back
Using your time looking back feeling strife
Fucking up the chance, catch you running for your life
There's no going back through
No second chance in the life we knew
Not a lot of time left for you!
Reflections of the past
There's no end in sight
How long can I last?
Stop!
And now you see, the pressure's on
My past, it haunts me
I'm nothing I wanted to be
Losing touch of what makes me
One day I'll shake this misery
One day I'll shake this misery
Shake the shit
Backing down
No way
I hit the ground
And then I seize the day
In the end it's all on me
Reflections of the past
There's no end in sight
How long can I last?
Wonderful dramatic opening, the voice of a black woman in all her honesty, vulnerability and openess. And then one of the fiercest tracks of Zulu, total hardcore: 'Now they are through with me', full of twists and turns, and suddenly ending in a kind of soul-track, brilliant! This is 21st century music at it's best. The end lecture is dramatic and disturbing, spoken again by a black woman. Makes you think. Hesperus
