”spam like = block” yeah ok buddy. when i wake up to tumblr notifs of someone spam liking my stuff i start giggling and kicking my feet

saw somebody recommending mob psycho 100 and they were like "dont be put off by the way the art looks" Brother that is one of my favorite parts. im definitely biased because i have a similar art style But that show stands out so much against other anime and just against other animated media in general. saying that bc they were specifically talking about the anime but the manga also has its own distinct style that i think really works for the story!!!! a lot of people call the manga art bad but i think ONE's ability to capture really specific expressions is one of the best parts. especially for a series that has so much comedy. like not everything has to be incredibly polished and intricately detailed and perfect to look good. anyway. go watch and/or read mob psycho 100. im just talking about the visuals here but theres so much absolutely incredible shit in that series

i can't decide which version is better

Gently reminding myself (and anyone else who needs to hear it) that "just" making memes is a valid way to participate in fandom. "Just" reblogging/commenting on people's art and fics is a valid way to participate in fandom. You do not need to create masterpieces regularly to have a place in the community.

AND ALSO. The artists and authors and meme-makers and analysts that you idolize are also people. They are also big nerds. They are just as weird about this thing as you are. They probably devalue their own contributions and presence as much as you do (everyone does).

You don't need to put them on a pedestal and distance yourself from them. You can, in fact, just reach out and see how it goes. They'd probably love to talk about the thing with you. Maybe they'll even talk about other things with you! Maybe you'll become friends!

But you'll never find out if you treat the Fandom Creators as idols that are so much better than you.
