I love that Jimmy Olsen is exactly the type of photographer Peter Parker pretends to be. Just bat-shit insane.

Whenever someone asks Peter how he took a picture he’s like “Oh! I uh-, climmed a flagpole. Totally”

And very mortal, normal-human Jimmy is like “See, Clark, is not that weird”

I mean, look at this nutjob.

The world could be ending, lava on the streets and Jimmy would be out there photographing away. No powers, no sense of self preservation. Just khakis, a camera and a dream.

I like to imagine Peter meeting Jimmy and immediately being mortified about it.

Jimmy: –and so luckily I was able to take the picture before the building collapsed on me… Superman was super pissed at me but, photographer to photographer, it was totally worth it.

Peter: Right, no– See, this is actually my first time hearing how fucking insane that sounds. No wonder people at work look at me weird.

Just finished “Into the Drowning Deep” by Mira Grant, which is a horror book about carnivorous mermaids. It was great! Although I feel like it just kinda abruptly ended?? Wasn’t super into that. Im now listening to the prequel book “Rolling in the Deep” 🤞🤞

Julien’s “I thought I would sleep when the boy did” comment just conjured into my mind the most hilarious image of the first night on the road with the seekers. I imagine julien is just staring at occtis waiting for him to fall asleep and it just keeps not happening and occtis doesn’t know what’s going on and julien doesn’t know what’s going on but because julien made the mistake of committing to the tough guy shadow role 110% right off the bat, he refuses to be the first the fall asleep he started this he cannot and will not back down even though he’s just getting more and more exhausted. And occtis is like. Whelp. I guess I’m just stuck sitting here cuz I can’t sleep and I can’t leave julien’s FOV without consequences. And they just have the world’s most awkward uncomfortable all night staring contest with julien like this motherfucker has to fall asleep at some point he must and occtis is just getting like more and more apologetic like im swear I’m not doing this on purpose. But they arent talking. At all. It’s all like body language across the dying campfire. It’s so important to me that they are just sitting there in the most uncomfortable and confused silence.

I’m not trying to like. Comment on any one person specifically but I’m so confused by the more and more common idea we got Caleb’s backstory or even Nott’s clarification of their relationship “too early” in the cartoon. This is about, pacing-wise, when it happened in the campaign. Episodes 13 and 18 out of 141.

Also the idea that “well we didn’t know the gruesome details of how dark Caleb could get that early-” Yes we did. Caleb told Beau and Nott he’d tortured and murdered people, and that he wanted to do it, in episode 18. He vividly described murdering his parents and watching Astrid and Eadwulf do the same in that same monologue.

I think what people are running into is that they were able to brush that aside and only have sympathy for Caleb when it was a monologue, but are having a harder time doing that when the story is visualized. In a fandom culture obsessed with black and white morality, I think the critique is more that Caleb’s culpability is super apparent when his actions are animated, and people are either feeling differently about him or are worried the cartoon only audience won’t see the nuances and share their sympathy for him.
