I do think it's wild with this recent wave of transphobia in the US government that there'll be people on here who genuinely still believe that transfems are the only people who are targeted and transmascs are just incidental.

Like, in congress (I think that's what y'all call it?) a picture of a person who had gotten double mastectomy top surgery was used to push this legislation. Being transgender was called a "mind virus" which directly ties into that bullshit ROGD study and "Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters". They're sending letters to companies that specifically sell chest binders to tell them they can no longer sell them (without medical approval). These are all very explicitly transmasculine targeted attacks.

Obviously I have to say that this doesn't mean I think transfems aren't targeted or aren't affected by this or even targeted less.

I'm saying it's very fucking obvious that they are going after all trans people and using whatever narratives suits them best to enforce this transphobia to erase all of us from existence.

The reason they use transmasc surgery is because it's easier to fearmonger to conservative misogynists about poor confused women mutilating themselves so they can't have children. They'll use this rhetoric to ban gender affirming care for ALL TRANS PEOPLE.

They'll fearmonger about transfems in bathrooms because it's easier to present the "deviant male wanting to assault people" narrative to those same misogynistic conservatives. And they will use this rhetoric to ban ALL TRANS PEOPLE from bathrooms.

This is what we mean when we say that transandrophobia & transmisogyny work in tandem with each other. They aren't incidental or opposite to each other, they are equal parts of the same force, on purpose.

Tennelle Flowers, Captain Snapdragon and TIGERTWINED have all shown support for Sally's return. Sagutoyas/Sally was previously outed for grooming a teenager and starting a relationship with them when she was in her 20's. the fact that these people are defending her is completely inexcusable and it shows that they don't value victims of abuse

As for Glittergoatss/Avi I know them and have for a very long time. They were never a supporter of Sagutoyas even behind the scenes. have no idea where that claim is coming from. Avi has been against them the moment the info broke The thread linked has proof of Tigertwined comparing assaults from cops on BIPOC to what Sally is going through. Something she knew was wrong and did anyways

I've never read Homestuck but there's a type of media that I call "a Homestuck" and I think it's a useful categorization. The main criteria are:

Fate/Stay Night is a Homestuck. Worm is a Homestuck. When They Cry is a Homestuck.

Undertale has cultural impact similar to a Homestuck at first glance, but the fact that it's a pretty short and accessible game means that you don't get the particular mix of sunk cost fallacy and an intimate experience with a piece of media that results in you needing to connect with others who have already put in the time investment. You can buy your friends Undertale and expect them to play it if they're not too busy; telling a friend to read Homestuck is giving them a quest that, if accepted, will spark an odyssey. to read someone's Homestuck is an act of love without true equivalent.

I support, and see the value in, both kinds of spaces. Mostly, for myself, I'm for the former, because the majority of my negative experience from non-queer people is less personal and direct.

Sometimes, instead, I have reason to want to be in a more restricted space - normally with a much more focused context like queer+autism than just queer.

Both kinds of spaces have value, though. As do "specific queerness mostly" spaces like gay or lesbian oriented bars aimed more at intimate relationships and all.

(I definitely lean to "default to open, or 'mostly'" though.)

I honestly don't know a single advantage of "queers only" spaces that can't be better addressed with a different rule (like "no bigotry") but I can name several issues, such as

I think this is a general issue with spaces that attempt to draw hard lines. Like, does the ideal "queer + autism" space accept self-diagnosed people? What about people who are unsure if what they're dealing with is autism, ADHD, AuDHD or schizospec? I don't think a narrow focus is the same as drawing hard lines and one does not necessitate the other.

contrary to popular belief not everyone has an innate sense of internal gender or care to have one or seek a name for it, some people go their whole lives without questioning their occupation in one of two gender roles, but for some people, if pressed, they don’t feel that internal sense of ‘i am a woman’ or ‘i am a man’, and in that case i feel the switch over to transgender vs cisgender relies on active identification of a gender other than the one they were assigned. if someone’s like ‘idk dude I just work here’ then that’s valid

A portion of people in the notes are like ‘but that makes you trans. That’s called being agender’ and another portion of people are going ‘this is how the majority of cis ppl feel and it’s NOT agender’ and personally I feel like both of them are missing the point here. Yes a lot of people identify as agender because of this feeling. Yes a lot of people with this same feeling still identify as cis. These are not mutually exclusive experiences and it doesn’t mean the agender people are secretly cis or the cis people are secretly agender. It just means they have very similar experiences of gender that they choose to conceptualize and label differently, and neither of them are mistaken or wrong to do so.

With a total of 55 entries, all of this comes from the Clangen Creator Community discord server! It’s been so wonderful getting to share pride month with all of you. Every now and then I almost got a lil teary-eyed whenever I stopped to think about all these different artists coming together in one big community to celebrate queerness, freely and proudly. You guys have made such a wonderful and welcoming community, and I’m so happy to be apart of it.
