MaLevelance The vibes of gazing across the inky abyss of a dark ocean are strong with this one. Favorite track: WAY WITH ME.

Mike Nuss Wow!! 😲 I've been a fan for a long time and enjoyed all of your work, but you have definitely outdone yourself this time. This album is amazing! Thank You for creating an exceptional piece of art.

Rigged Réal, what in the actual hell. I love this so much already! Well worth the wait! MEMORY ECHOES and Spiritbox's "Tsunami Sea" are going to be fighting neck and neck to see what turns out to be my favorite album this year, it's that close! This album is overloaded with some of Réal's best work yet and some of his more diverse features to date! I never thought I'd get genuine joy out of hearing Comaduster exhibit anguish before until now.

10/10 Favorite track: WAVELIKE.

Tell me a time, you know that would I wait It's always bright before the deep dreams And memory is not the same Unfolding upon the world Are we better now? Tell me a time, you know that I would wait It's always bright before the deep dreams Unending malls in superficial photographs Turn inwards And crawl further Just don't wander from the path Suspended falls And iridescent holograms A fissure in black embers Just remember it's the past Just remember it's the past I don't want to turn around I don't want to zero out

LIMINAL ZERO 04:57
The light is taking back it's solitude So here we cross, and weave the nether How am I to make it alive as anything but dust in the wind Under our skin Only flowing out, never pulling in Under our skin The calling of our selves to bend Under our skin Only flowing out, never pulling in Under our skin The story is what's holding us within Unending malls in superficial photographs Turn inwards and crawl further Just don't wander from the path Suspended falls iridescent holograms A fissure in black embers Just remember it's the past The night is breaking open now for good And every moment that passes Will seed the terror I've been waiting, holding out for you In the shade of it all, we're fading out together I cycle through the feelings I can never know who you are Blind in the light Under our skin Only flowing out, never pulling in Under our skin The calling of our selves to bend Under our skin Only flowing out, never pulling in Under our skin The story is what's holding us within Unending malls in superficial photographs Turn inwards and crawl further Just don't wander from the path Suspended falls Iridescent holograms A fissure in black embers Just remember it's the past I don't want to turn around I don't want to zero out I don't want to turn around I don't want to zero out Blurring the lines Broken down Whirring machine Round and round In the liminal A shade over us Let it out In the shape of our eyes

WAY WITH ME 04:55
I struggle on the road to evening This is my time to breath I'm awash in light and headaches Until we move to evening haze If our waves don't crash together I want vapour in the breeze Can't stay in shade forever I won't share your lonely weather Because you know your way with me These veiled streets hold back confessions In words now harder to perceive A midnight waltz of love and loathing If we're to dance within this maze If our waves don't crash together I want vapour in the breeze Can't stay in shade forever I won't share your lonely weather Because you know your way with me Because you know your way with me But you already knew how this ends How this ends How this ends How this ends I struggle on the road to evening This is my time to breath This is my time to breath This is my time to breath

Opened wings folding out of this infinite city Through this monochrome we glide to barren tormented wastes And I will seek you when we're done Before we ever met I know that I'm wounded down in the current But I go anyway I know that I can't parse the light from the terror It mirrors golden in the haze You are the night What do we know? How did it grow? Born from shadow? I know that I'm wounded down in the current A beacon burning through the grey Untangle that which you don't need, no Bound in twilight desolate, oh Within black sun rays you'll find a road Under gloaming city spires You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the road You are the night You are the night You are the night You are the night You are the night Untangle that which you don't need, now Found in twilight desolate, oh Within black sun rays you find a home On the ocean starlit skies You are the night Am I withered? Or have I forgot? While walking the road where time had stopped Am I withered? Or have I forgot? That you are the night That you are the night I breath Am I withered? Or have I forgot? If I was with you the night that time had stopped Am I withered? Or have I forgot? That you are the night

The voice of another is lost And you aren’t my only ghost today A start to the replays And you won't die only once To free yourself Because we are eternal A signal that's drowned in noise We are internal A twin they disowned Devoid of essence In the darkness I scan for your pulse It's trailing a black star Through this deranged world And if you shine all at once where you have harnessed the sun I'll see you weave Your self, my noise And I've, Atop my Fallen forwards, tallest mountains Into your gravity A chance left hanging At the end of immortality Because we are eternal A signal that's drowned in noise We are internal A twin you disowned In void, in essence We are eternal, falling forward An unending sound, A voice, into your gravity We are eternal, a chance left hanging Just abstraction now In noise, in essence We are eternal, falling forward A signal that's drowned, in noise into your gravity We are internal, a chance left hanging A twin you disowned, at the edge of immortality In void, in essence, falling forward An unending sound, in to your gravity A chance left hanging, just abstraction now At the edge, of noise, of essence, in immortality You Are A signal that's drowned In noise

What is you see In that singularity? Is it gazing back at you eternally? Glowing heat defines Grasping as the stars die You're sacred in your own way A passage to the infinite Now you are aflame forever And by strength you can't divide That past is gone surrender The one who cannot die The one who cannot None of these readings make any sense at all, we should have landed here Again, alter Hold It's everywhere, and there’s mimics Shift, alter, hold I need a scan You are the night, you are the road Sixteen million kilometers It’s everywhere, no You are the night, you are the road I didn’t think we even crossed, was it the last threshold? It must have been after we crossed the last threshold We’re never getting out of here

WAVELIKE 04:05
A twister out of frame Ciphers etched in ground I've jumped beyond the curves And reckon I should tie things down My particles divide A wavelike swarm I ride Communicate the words I'm alone And that's enough Wavelike And you respond in colours And I'm dissolved to grains Wavelike We talk through interference patterns Encoded in absence of change Through redshift I drift Waking Lasting One of us must step where the Light can’t touch To decipher the meaning Lingering within I feel your single photon bend around my tethered Mind Wavelike A higher state of being Was never meant for me I've locked in to motions I know Where light can't touch Communicate the words "I'm Alone, I'm alone" And "that's enough" And you respond in colours And I'm dissolved in grains Wavelike Where the light can’t touch To decipher the meaning Lingering within I feel your single photon bend around my tethered I left this long ago to the waves You will mark my words I felt the loss You will mark my words I felt the loss Through Redshift I drift Waking Lasting No time lost What are you asking? Push me Break me Laws that shape things One of us must step where the Light can't touch To decipher the meaning Lingering within I feel your single photon end Wavelike

Have you ever woken up in another world? No? Time holding on to meaning of a different kind? Aww? Where do you belong? somewhere, nowhere, homeward somewhere, nowhere, homeward Where do you belong now? Where do you belong now? Your Paris diary is discontent, water bent Smuggled from the days before the war A key of brass, your Edinburgh studio is art nouveau But you forget what's through the door Yellow velvet drapes bought in Memphis, they're pretentious But they strangle out the onslaught of the sun Pocket makeup vanity from Venice with insanity Shot through with Beaumont-Adams gun And the newsreel says And the newsreel says And the newsreel says The less you know, the better The less you know, the better You touched her face And now you're racing to forget her The less you know, the better The less you know, the better There's a hole in history That holds it all together Roll the film In Kyoto you bought roses by the dozen But there's nothing now except flashbacks and diminishing returns Matchbook from a Budapest hotel, it's old as hell But you pluck one out and sure enough it burns Music played without a song, envelopes with letters gone Bruises from a kiss that can't be traced Pull your London trenchcoat up, think of 1950-something Think of all the decades they erased And the newsreel says The less you know, the better The less you know, the better You touched her face And now you're racing to forget her The less you know, the better The less you know, the better There's a hole in history That holds it all together Roll the film The less you know, the better The less you know, the better The less you know, the better Roll the film There's a hole in history That holds it all together There's a hole in history There's a hole in history The less you know Don't go digging beneath the elm So let's talk about the weather Kill the lights Roll the film

MIMIC 06:26
Time mimics every color Quanta shifting down their paths I only only have a memory A black collection of the past They mimic every other Connection silencing your head We move as not to be hunted Not knowing if it's a human We have seen every reflection The bleeding drained from every glancing blow We move and counter misdirection We move to know that there's an end We mimic every other Connection silencing your head They move as not to be hunted Not knowing if I'm a human I only am a memory Stolen from your last patterns in gravity I only am memory I only am memory I only am memory I only am memory But memory is not the same Reflecting back to you Or is birthed and bleached anew? My thoughts of you will always shift and sway Wound up in a nether's weave Fractured and rearranged Memory is not the same Unfolding upon the world Are we better now? And Are we better now? And Are we better now? And Are we better now? And Are we better now? I only am memory I only am memory

Synesthesia and loneliness had bound you Broken in the roughs The wilds between the ranges Fashioned in the cold With only what restrained you To open doors to to worlds That counter weigh in tether Will you play a part If cause can not effect things? Will you turn now from the shores Of afterbirth or step back? Your prismatic gloam only knows a limit If hoping things will fall is part of your agenda What is it you see In that singularity? A shifting point of view Or an unending dream? That's rippling deep inside Like a lashing back, or starlite A pattern trapped in old ways, Or the hatching of a golden age? A storm that burns the tinders By the waves brought in by tides It matters not, remember? The gravity of memories A passage to the infinite Echoing indefinite The shadows casting memories They're pulling from the limitless mimicking your gravity Echoing indefinite The shadows casting memories They're pulling from the limitless And mimicking your gravity

about

After nearly a six year hiatus since the acclaimed album DARKER MATTER (FiXT), Comaduster returns independently with the new full-length MEMORY ECHOES, a fractured, cinematic, and emotionally volatile exploration of memory, nostalgia, and speculative science fiction.

This record functions simultaneously as a standalone audio experience and a conceptual framework — a sonic artifact that emerged from a speculative science fiction premise in which a universe altering event,
the LIMINAL ZERO EVENT, reshapes the very structure of space, time, and memory. This narrative isn’t presented overtly, but rather infused into the music through tone, form, texture, and haunting resonance.

The conceptual premise itself started as an offshoot thought experiment written during the writing of 2017’s ‘Solace’ album. A high science fiction concept narrative about a recursion of reality and identity along profound time scales. It was abandoned as a narrative related to the Solace universe, and became a writing tool for material that was to appear as an anachronistic Comaduster side project. Much of this music was reimagined in 2019-2021 and 2023 — and the sci-fi premise was re-introduced.

The LIMINAL ZERO EVENT is imagined as a sudden phase shift in cosmic inflation, expanding spacetime in infinite dimensions beyond the speed of light. It leaves behind a skeletal structure of reality, frozen in fragments, with the Planck length becoming infinite. The fundamental forces remain locally coherent relative to each absolute point, but only through personal gravitational memory anchors known as Liminal Zero Points (LZPs). Reality and it’s parameters dilate relativistically like time.
Memory itself becomes an aspect of gravitational force — the quantum effects of gravity now brought to a macro scale. As one moves through the resulting Liminal Nether, coherency with others and oneself fractures. Paradoxes bloom along relative manifolds. Mimics form—versions of the self that could not be, yet still influence and haunt.

Throughout MEMORY ECHOES, older versions of songs emerge like ghosts. Hooks appear before their canonical arrival. Degraded stems twist and re-emerge. Memory is recursive. Derivation is deliberate. Every song contains elements of every other.

The production is murky and subversive by design. Coherence is not guaranteed. Previous forms bleed through. The signal is jammed.

The album also features a number of collaborators, each chosen for their unique emotional voice and presence. Mari Kattman (Metropolis Records) appears on "BLACK SUN RAYS" and "HOMEWARD,"
the latter of which also includes Webb Cardinal — Réal’s father—on classical and acoustic guitars. Alex Reed (Seeming, Artoffact Records) brings lyrical depth and dissonance to "THE LESS YOU KNOW," layered with Elijah Hennig’s guitar and sonic texture. Elijah also contributes across several tracks throughout the album.

Tonal and visual influences include puzzle-box storytelling like Netflix’s DARK and Maniac, analog and liminal horror à la Kane Pixels and SCP lore, the dream-associative surrealism of David Lynch, and FromSoftware’s environmental narrative logic.

The official artwork for both the album and its accompanying singles was created by Seth Broman of grymlife.com and ONSET AUDIO. The visuals vividly encapsulate themes of transformation, recursion, and altered states of memory.

Despite its speculative framework, MEMORY ECHOES is not just a concept album. It stands on its own as a collection of deeply personal and expressive music that explores human grief, nostalgia, sonder, memory, and identity. The science fiction is there to crack the structure open. The emotional core bleeds out on its own.

Within this framework, each track is a window into a lived experience from this fractured reality. Often from multiple perspectives at once. Your point of departure to listen to the record without spoilers is here. An audio log transcription and lyric read through is provided with this download.

This is the fractured sound of what remains.
This is MEMORY ECHOES.
