intro post bc I realized ppl do these! Uhhh, hey there! I'm just gonna say call me Q or Cosmic tbh, not super comfortable sharing much about myself. I'm aroace and agender, he/him or it/its pronouns with a preference for it/its. Please don't use she/her or they/them. I'm an artist and writer, mostly essays and poetry for the writing, and my art is primarily sketches and doodles of whatever catches my fancy. I only draw/write for fun so while you are welcome to send suggestions it's a toss up if I'll do them. I'm into Borderlands, Studio Ghibli (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind is my favorite), Epic the Musical, The Odyssey and Greek Mythology in general (Currently reading The Illiad), Arcane, The Arcana, The Magnus Archives, Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit/The Silmarillion, The Mighty Nein (the show, and I'm slowly watching the campaign but I've already had a lot of things spoiled for me so), The Last of Us, Knives Out/Glass Onion, and russian literature (primarily Dostoyevsky, Gogol, and Pushkin). Anyways, I'll probably post art and maybe some poetry. gonna add this for funzies but I'm an avatar of the buried and Hestia is my favorite Greek goddess! As judged by my friend I'd likely be a son of Apollo while being a preist of Hestia. I'm gonna add this here: I'm not here for politics. I'm on tumblr for fun. I'm a private person and frankly I'm here to post and enjoy art and such. The only opinion I want to blatanly hold is that I am against violence in general. I am not here to argue, so please don't try to talk to me about politics or argue with me. Don't be a dick, respect others, and respect human life. That's it. [|87

adding a tag system to my blog so! This is for my own organization, and it will probably take a while for me to have everything tagged properly.

actually I'm back to thinking about Hermann Gottlieb for saying some of the most iconic lines in film, including "Numbers are the clostest we get to the word of God" and "By jove, we are going to own this thing for sure!!" because I've laughed at them so hard. Oh also shout out rewatching Pacific Rim for allowing me to clock something I missed the first time I watched it: Newton says the dinosaurs were a test run for the kaiju. Who came up with that shit. Cackling. (It delights me/gen)

you have to love the humble theremin. humankind invented an instrument you play by not touching it and it became the halloween ghost instrument. magnificent

FUCK YEAH THEREMIN MY FAVORITE INSTRUMENT I LOVEEEE THEREMIN I got to play one once its in my top experiences ever hell yeah

I do think it's funny that despite being very aroace I have two phrases I say pretty often thay are related to sexiness. The first being "Idris Elba, sexiest man alive" or variants of that which I've been saying for years to my friends bafflement (its a family in joke from some media thing??? I dont know I've never seen the actual source my parents got it from) and the second which I've picked up recently being "What's sexier than wizards NOTHING" which is a tweet that my brother quoted often and I've started picking up from him. Am I genuine when I say these things? Not really? I dont know what sexy really is honestly I can sometimes tell if something/someone is like, objectively sexy/hot/attractive but I dont feel or get it really. However I do think it's funny to say. Watched Pacific Rim w/my partner and a friend of ours and when Idris Elba's character shows up I was like "its Idris Elba, sexiest man alive!" Much to their confusion. But yeah humor of the day.

Ohhhh Faramir in Return of the King Extended Edition we're really in for it now...

I ran out of tags so I'm gonna elaborate on why for me specifically Aragorn healing Eówyn in the houses of healing is a win and its for one reason only: the quote "The hands of the king are the hands of healer" has never left my head since I read it. That quote LIVES in my mind. I feel sooooo emotional over it. So for me, seeing Aragorn (THE KING.) healing someone with care (IN THE MOVIE TITLED RETURN OF THE KING) means a LOT to me. Anyways.

Ohhhh Faramir in Return of the King Extended Edition we're really in for it now...

#cosmic monologues#faramir#lord of the rings#ohhhh i'm so emotional over him#“I do not believe this darkness will endure”#Faramir I am going to hold those words very very very close to my heart#in these wretched trying times we live in#we can all stand to keep the LOTR movies (and especially the extended editions) dear to hs#*us#for all the fantastic quotes and scenes telling us that we must hold on to hope and happiness and the small joys#“look Mr. Frodo the king has a crown again!” (its flowers) and the little bit of seasoning Sam carries and every other moment of small joy#and love and hope#ohhh#I'm going to clutch those words tight to my chest in every moment where I feel myself losing hope#things will improve! this darkness will not last!#the return of the king extended edition is frankly my favorite LOTR movie for a lot of reasons#(GROND being one of them yes)#some silly and some more emotional#it kind of has a special place in my heart because it was the first of the extended editions I ever saw and until very recently#the only extended edition I'd seen#because on the 20th anniversary of the release of Return of the King theatres were playing the Return of the King#as an anniversary thing#and specifically the extended edition#a friend of mine who also loved LOTR and knew I loved it was going to see and offered to take me along with them#and I was able to go#so it sort of has a special place for that beautiful experience of seeing it in theatres for the first time#and in general ROTK is my favorite of the trilogy#the battles the endings the love the hope#it gets me emotional and i truly love it and I am running out of tags but extended editon ROTK wins for having Aragorn healing Eówyn
