as all my homestuck followers know, i’ve stopped writing homestuck/johnkat fanfiction completely. HOWEVER.

i have many unfinished drafts in my drive, and, because it’s 4/13 after all, it couldn’t hurt to celebrate a little.

due to the current state of the fandom and the current state of my tiny tiny audience, i’ve decided that i will completely stop writing fanfics if i cannot get enough reviews/readers.

i’ve been writing fanfics for three years. i’ve only had the motivation to do so because when i was doing it for my old fandom, i had an audience actually RESPOND TO MY DESPERATE PLEAS FOR COMMENTARY. in this fandom nobody reads my fanfics despite all the effort i put into them.

i don’t write these fanfics for myself. i write them for other fans, for the fanbase, for YOU GUYS. if i don’t get any response, not even the tiniest bit of appreciation, then there’s no need for me to keep writing.

i’ve been putting off important IRL things to do just to keep writing fanfiction and i get nothing for it. i need to focus on schoolwork, not fictional characters.

TL;DR i will wait and see if this post gets any responses or if i get any more activity for my works. if i don’t, then this is it. i will stop writing. FOREVER. I REALLY MEAN IT.
