One year on from the release of his sophomore album ‘Miracles’, the Canadian DJ, producer and live act returns with the three-track ‘Hold You EP’, comprising his signature blend of catchy vocal hooks and melodies that pull on your heartstrings.
CRi made his solo label debut in 2019 with his aptly-named ‘Initial EP’ and has gone from strength to strength in the years since. Tens of thousands of tickets and tens of millions of streams later, this summer is a testament to the Québécois artist’s growth; CRi recently played Festival d’été de Québec, Canada’s second biggest music festival, alongside sets at Osheaga Festival in Montréal and Anjunadeep Open Air in London the following day. He heads to Australia and India for a five-date tour in November and will perform at Red Rocks and Hipódromo de las Américas as part of Above & Beyond’s ABGT600 celebrations.
To accompany the poignant chord progressions and melancholic vocals of already-released single ‘Dark In This Room’, CRi brings us ‘Hold You’ and ‘As You Want’. Now firmly established as a master of crafting bittersweet tracks full of emotion, the ‘Hold You EP’ is no different and features a healthy dose of beautiful melodies and smooth vocals.
Immaculately produced. It's also everything its album artwork and title promise: warm, optimistic, and just so full of life.
"Rust" and "The Sun" are some of my favourite electronic records of all time. I'll be returning this album for years to come. Sam
Cloudpeople can be loved too. And I could be in love with one. I wanted to stand fast so she knew where to come arround.
But not sure if we will have a mutual future. Since she keeps repeating the lies to herself and meanwhile broke her promises. Being in someone's life is not the same as being absent. And wanting change without changing, doesn't work out. coen_holten
