He has a broken finger and it's set in a splint. He rolled a critical failure in real life and managed to break his finger putting on his pants. A fact he forgot in the moment while reflexively reaching out as Wickander to shake Kattigan's hand. And Robbie was also so caught up in the scene that he didn't process Sam was offering him his broken-fingered hand to shake in real life until Sam yelped. Just locked into how Kattigan would shake someone's hand.
Which all quite frankly seems like a very Wickander and Kattigan series of things to do. Accidental method acting.
