But what about more canon explanation lol Is he willing to let his hair wildly grow or does he give Astarion scissors from time to time and let him cut his hair?

The hair length change since I started drawing him is more of a character retcon, and I consider the current length to have always been what it looked like during the game’s campaign in"canon". Otherwise he has not allowed his hair to grow past his shoulders since he was a teenager, as that would be annoying to maintain and not exactly battle-ready (and he doesn’t chop All of it off because the man has a little bit of vanity in him).
Either way, he of course cuts it himself.
