i forgot to mention the time machines in the show aren't actually machines but sentient and often organic nightmare dimensions. hope this clears some things up.

If I had heard it played now on one recorder I would have taken it instantly as a secret message of hope. But on two recorders . . . was it possible that it was a deliberate insult, an intentional desecration of the past?

i rly do love the 'schedule send' option for emails bc when i actually need to look like a functioning person i schedule emails to send at like 9:07 am and it's like wow! what a go-getter. i bet this guy slept a normal number of hours and sent this email after waking up at a regular time and brushed his teeth and ate breakfast and everything before he sent this email at a neutral morning time. not too early. not too late. let the dog out and grabbed the physical newspaper he subscribes to because he supports local journalism. a real standup person all around.
i will sound crazy but in the s7e16 Workforce Janeway, whose memories were changed and she has no idea she's the captain of Voyager, or that Voyager even exists, has sex with a random white dude, as usual, and after that they're chatting in bed and she caresses the place above his left eyebrow while talking about love. and that was the moment, ladies and gentleman, when I realised Seven's implant and Chakotay's tattoo are in the same place

Jumping on to share this comparison I noticed! Seeing the same structures, landscape, and similar procedures used for both rockets gives this nice sense of reliability and permanence even as technology changes.
