LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT DID IT SEEE ???

I really don’t know what crowd I expected to be in the theatre for carol at 1:20 in the afternoon on a friday but it was probably 85% old people, old het couples and halfway through the movie this old lady in front of me turned to the old dude next to her and just said “harold they’re lesbians”
Imagine the entirety of Gotham guesses the bat-family’s identity’s but for the wrong people.
It starts out as a joke—
Random Twitter Poster: What if Bruce Wayne was Batman?
Another poster: Nah that’d make no sense. Bruce Wayne (don’t hate me I love him but still) is a fucking idiot. What’d make more sense is Dick Grayson. He visits Gotham enough, he has WORK muscles not decorative ones, and he can be scary as shit sometimes.
Poster #3: To add onto this what if Bruce Wayne was Nightwing? I just feel like they have VERY similar energy. Hard core party boy.
OP: OH MY GOD ITS ALL STARTING TO MAKE SENSE NOW?? So if Dick Grayson is Batman, and Bruce Wayne is Nightwing, that means that theres a possibility the ENTIRE family is involved in crime fighting.
[The internet proceeds to conspire that Tim Drake is Batgirl, Jason Todd is Red Robin (presumed dead but came back, much like Red Robin), Cassandra Cain is Red Hood, Stephanie Brown is Robin, and Damian Wayne is Spoiler. Somehow, the internet reached the conclusion that Duke Thomas is the villain Clayface and his family just doesn’t know.]
pasta is so comforting. pasta is my best friend. pasta my beloved. pasta is my boyfriend pasta is a god pasta is the breeze in my hair in the weekend pasta is a relaxing thought!!!
I don’t want to hear any writing advice from Stephen king not because I think there would be no value in it but because whatever works for Stephen king is between him and god and that demon he made a pact with that lets him write 3000 words in one sitting daily.
I hope something cool dope or legendary happens to me soon

State terrorism charges have been dropped against Luigi Mangione. He is still on trial for the lesser charge of 2nd-degree murder.
Hope his lawyers are smart enough to have the murder charges dropped on a technicality after all those government officials declared him guilty without a trial
IT'S HAPPENING
in 2026 DO NOT ask yourself whether your art is GOOD
instead ask:
- is it SINCERE
- was it CATHARTIC
- was it FUN TO MAKE
- is it MADE BY ME
and don't forget to stay silly
first rule of fandom is everything goes back to destiel
second rule of fandom is everything goes back to kirk/spock
third rule of fandom is everything goes back to holmes & watson
fourth rule of fandom is everything goes back to achilles & patroclus
the funny thing is. I originally typed out "fifth rule of fandom is everything goes back to gilgamesh & enkidu" but then I thought 'no, I can't trust that people will be familiar with the epic of gilgamesh'
I should have known. nerd ass website.
gamers are like classist as fuck and they act like they don't realize it
i don't think i'm like smart or eloquent enough to word this properly. but i've noticed that, for example, people will act like people playing legends za on switch 1 are like stupid but they don't have another option because they're poor. when the game was literally designed As a switch game, so it runs perfectly fine.
playing a game just in a slightly lower quality console makes them really upset for some reason, they pity your experience as if you're not having a good time playing the game because it isn't running at one billion fps.
they also act like owning a system at all isn't already a huge privilege, and so is buying any videogame for it. like that's cool how you can buy two versions if a game, one for your 200 dollar system and one for your 500 dollar system, so you can complain about how shitty the slightly more affordable option is.
it's never even about the experience of playing the game. it's always got to be about fucking frame rates and expensive consoles, no one is allowed to have a good time unless they can keep up.
someone says "the game runs fine on my old but perfectly functional console" and some other guy will be like "if you don't buy the trillion dollar version of this you'll be playing at 10 frames per second and your console will explode so it's not even worth it to buy any games for it"
like hmm i wonder why you want people to not buy games if they can't afford to play them at the current highest quality. i'm sure it means literally nothing
See also: Shaming those who use emulators or other ways of acquiring games
yeah. emulation was the only way i ever got to play videogames up until 2020 when i was lucky enough to get a console of my very own for the first time ever. i've only got 4 games on it so far, in 5 years.
this is also why that statement of "you can't call yourself a real fan until you've played the game" always bothered me. it's not seen as much anymore I don't think but there are similar sentiments, with being shamed for not being able to keep up with the newest games
you condemn emulation but watching a playthrough doesn't make you a real fan either, so basically what you're saying is that you can only be a fan if you can afford it.
there's lots of other examples like this, like for example, merchandise. some people will shame you for buying bootlegs, when you're from a country who doesn't get official merch shipped to it in any capacity, and ordering from america or japan is just too expensive.
gaming communities simply hate people who don't have the money to buy themselves a seat at the table.

The thing I like the most of Wayne Family Adventures is the healthier dynamic between the Batfam. In which no one is perfect, but they see each other as people instead of a means to an end.
Bruce is far from being the perfect father/mentor to the kids, but he tries. In one of the episodes, he missed Cass' ballet solo because he was on a mission and got late to the theatre, but he apologized to her and rented the theatre so Cass could show him her performance. Just the two of them.
There's also the episode that showcases Jason's PTSD after all that he went through when the Joker captured him. Which was triggered with the sound of a crowbar scarping the floor. Bruce is shown as knowing what to do to calm him down and grounding him with real techniques that can be used on real life PTSD victims, and he understands that Jason's pain and trauma won't go easily. AND THE BEST PART OF THAT EPISODE IS WHEN THE WHOLE FAMILY DOES THINGS TO MAKE JASON FEEL BETTER. STEPH SHOWS HIM CAT VIDEOS!!! ALFRED MAKES HIM TEA ON HIS WONDER WOMAN MUG AND COOKIES!!! BRUCE ADMITS HE MADE MISTAKES WITH JASON, BUT COMFORTS HIM LETTING HIM KNOW THAT HE WOULDN'T CHANGE THE TIME THEY SPENT TOGETHER FOR ANYTHING!!! AND GIVES HIM A KISS ON THE HEAD!!!
And, last, but not least, we have the episode in which Damian is trying to make friends at school. Poor baby is super awkward at first, but finally makes a friend and he's super proud of it! But it's adorable when he calls Dick and Jason for help and reassurance, lil baby needs his big brothers.
Anyway, that was the rant for today. I hope you guys liked it. Will I write fanfics with the same format as Wayne Family Adventures? Maybe. I think I'm cooking up something, so stay tuned.
anyway the thing about fanfic is that it's not essentially bad or good; it's essentially amateur. some people are absolutely out there writing award-worthy prose (some fic writers ARE award-winning writers IRL!), but that's not the point. the point is that we're all telling campfire stories. it's a community, and it's a way to spend some more time in the worlds and stories that we love.
“What do you mean the tower is gone? Are you sure you’re in the right place? I actually used more colorful words than that,” Brett Elmore recounted to NBC News. “He said there’s wires all over the ground and the tower is gone.”
My favorite tags so far:
so this lead me down a fucking hour-long rabbit hole. i watched a video (linked on the radio station's wikipedia page) where some young guys walk through the radio tower property a week after it was allegedly stolen, and it's an overgrown jungle. looks like it's been abandoned for years. the door is hanging open and there is lichen growing on the linoleum floor inside. down in the comments there are locals saying the area is not exactly out in the boonies, either; there are people and businesses on that road. not to mention that a 200 foot radio tower is fucking gigantic. there is no crushed vegetation from dismantling the tower. no sign of any vehicles recently on the property other than the 1 set of tire tracks from the police vehicle which came to check it out when the report was received.
the tower wasn't stolen. it hadn't been there for years before the report was filed. google earth shows the tower up on site in 2022 and gone in 2023 so in all likelihood, it fell down sometime then. ALLEGEDLY, the fcc had been on them for an inspection of their am radio tower, and then a week before the fcc were scheduled to come out and inspect it, the station reported the tower missing. so. that's an hour of my life gone. you're welcome? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Then how… I believe you, but how…
how had they been broadcasting
had they been?
It's easy. They WEREN'T.
Hi, so admittedly I own one of the other radio stations in the same freaking town. And by own I mean it's in my name but I leave the technical stuff to my dad and pretty much absorb my information from being around him and the station all the time.
ANYWAYS!
The guy who runs WJLX isn't actually licensed to run an LPFM he is licensed to run an AM station. The AM station is supposed to be the one he plays his music on and he can run a translator to broadcast onto the FM frequencies as well. BUT! Only if his AM is still the main station. He can't do FM only.
That means two power bills basically. Those can be pretty hefty for a radio station.
And since no one really cares about AM these days he did the worst thing possible. He LET HIS AM STATION GO OFF THE AIR. His AM station has been off the air since as far back 2013. We have video of us testing his frequencies that far back. He's been running full time as an LPFM only for at least a decade now which in his case is illegal AF and is a $10,000 per day fine from the FCC if he's ever caught.
Well, low and behold he was caught and now he's trying to claim he didn't know because his tower was "obviously stolen".
For starters, it was eventually stolen. But only after it had already collapsed to the ground and rusted for several years. Metal scrappers will take nearly anything that looks to have been abandoned long enough.
TLDR; If he'd been running his station properly then he'd have known the exact moment his tower stopped broadcasting. He'd have known the moment it fell. There are these things called silence detectors (at least that's what we call them) and their whole job is to tell us we're not broadcasting anymore.
no shhhh it’s haunted. between dimensions. by Carmen Sandiego.
(thank you, may your station prosper)
Thank you tumblr for the mystery and the solution.
This is like an episode of Scooby Doo where there’s a mysterious event that surprises everyone but then eventually turns out to be a corrupt businessman lying about things.
It does sadly lack the mid-episode ghost/monster running and chasing scenes though, which is a shame.
I have an ongoing ganglion cyst issue on the top of my right hand. I have had it removed twice, drained once, and I accidentally popped it, and while there IS currently a cyst there (I can feel it if I touch the area) it isn't bothering me right now.
No, the one that has apparently grown on the SIDE of my wrist is very painful at this particular moment and has been since before Christmas so what the hell is up with that??
