Hey! My name is Daniel Calvin. I’m an animator and illustrator. I was diagnosed with genu varum in my feet, and they told me I couldn’t be an athlete forever ... and, unsurprisingly, I guess that turned out to be true. So instead, I grew up with films, comics, video games, and animation, with nothing to do with athletic things at all. My focus is exploring the mundane parts of life and making them more noticeable through motion and visual storytelling.
Currently, I’m making games at Extra Life Entertainment. Sometimes I also help with game design, producing, and narrative writing. I’ve been in game development for over 10 years, but it still feels like the first year — always learning new things and making silly mistakes.
Together with my two brothers, I also co-founded Grade F Studio, a visual media studio that focuses on personal storytelling. You can watch our first three films on Grade F’s YouTube channel.
If you love seeing things come alive through movement and visual storytelling, let’s connect, maybe we can collaborate in the future!
