And now we come to the end of VaniGrey Week 2025.

This was my first time hosting an event so I was honestly quite nervous, but it was smooth sailing the whole way through!

I would like to thank @queenbutterfly276 for participating - I hope you had a good time! Your art is absolutely brilliant! And for everyone else who viewed that art or read my fics, I hope you enjoyed it!

I know there wasn't a lot of traffic because this is a niche ship in a quiet fandom that's hibernating until the anime returns, but I still want to do this again next year because I had lots of fun. I think November was a bad time to pick, so if I did this again it would be at a better time like late summer - July or August or something - because I'm pretty sure there aren't any regular major events in those months?

Until then, this events blog will be dormant. If you've got any questions or suggestions or just want to chat, it would be best to go to my main, @dappled-sunlight-dap, and I'll get back to you when I can. I hope you all have happy holidays!

But the fun isn't over yet!

Submissions are allowed for another week before I bring the event to a close next Sunday! If you were wanting to participate but you're a bit late to the party, don't worry! You have up to November 30th to submit anything you have up your sleeves, and for anyone wanting to follow the prompts list, you can use that for this coming week as well!

I'm putting together a bonus 8th piece to submit next week because I had such a good time coming up with all these ideas! It'll be something nice and cozy.

Today is Day 7, Free Day! Therefore, I decided to write a very cute angel/demon AU that @hybridanafrost came up with.

All royal grimoires come with a pair of spirits - an angel and a demon - whose job is to guide their royal and teach them how to conduct themselves and be leaders of the people. Noelle's spirits, however, are a pair of disasters. Grey, the angel, is extremely skittish and prone to panic. Vanica, the demon, keeps recommending illegal activities, most often murder.

Here's a collection of moments in Noelle's life where she's had to make decisions with the "help" of Grey and Vanica, including one that elicits a surprising reaction from the pair of them...

Day 6 is Role Swap! This means that Grey is now one of Spade's usurper kings and Vanica is one of the Black Bulls.

Grey invades the Heart Kingdom, only to find herself very confused when one of her enemies starts aggressively flirting with her. Defeating her doesn't help, because she seems to be enjoying it way too much...

Day 5 is Fantasy or Fairytale, so I decided to revisit the world of We'll Write Our Own Stories since it fits the prompt! You do not have to have read WWOOS or its prequel to enjoy this as it is, but anyone who's read both may have noticed that Grey develops a habit of putting flowers in people's hair between fics. This fic explains where she learned that, and is heavily inspired by How To Train Your Dragon's "Forbidden Friendship" scene.

Vanica and Grey are resting in the wilderness. Since they have time to kill, Vanica decides to teach Grey a couple of things.

Day 4 is ANGST ANGST ANGST, so I'm visiting the Modern Vanigrey universe, where Vanica ends up stranded in horrendous winter weather after crashing her car late at night. Meanwhile, Grey and Megicula mount a rescue mission with some help from Zenon and Allen to bring her back home.

Day 3: Soulmates

i had to make them pink i just had to @dapple-events

Oh, that shade of pink is GORGEOUS! I can see why you had to use it, it's beautiful! I am in love with the way you draw their hair too - it's so floofy! I'm noticing some marks near their chests that kinda look like two halves of a sun. That must be how the soulmates found each other, right? And what a lovely pair they make, too!

monster vs hunter!!!! vanica is of course a devil creature (also i for the life of me couldn’t design a monster grey i liked)

Fabulous! I adore the striking contrast between the red and blue colour schemes! I also love the innate chaos of the scene, that moment of desperate struggle between Grey and Vanica. I wonder who'll come out on top in the end? This is brilliant!

And I feel you on struggling for a good monster design, too. I had the same issue while I was tackling this prompt, so it ended up being one of my last pieces. The beauty of monsters is that they come in all shapes and sizes and you can literally make up whatever you want, but being so spoiled for choice makes it hard to design one!

Wowzers! We had a submission a whole week early! Well, there's no rules against it and I'd never complain about surprise VaniGrey! Absolutely loving the enthusiasm and I'm really happy you're already enjoying the event!

I LOVE Grey's outfit! She looks like she came straight out of a sci-fi movie! And judging by those wanted posters, Vanica's having the time of her life committing crimes!

Do you like VaniGrey (Vanica x Grey)? Because I LOVE them! And that's why I decided it would be fun to host an event for them! Would you like to join me?

That's right, folks - VaniGrey Week is next month (November 17-23), so I'm here to get this party started with... drumroll please... the prompts list!

I would like to thank my pals @awakefor48hours and @colucana for helping me come up with the list, and the majority of prompts here were their suggestion!

You can submit anything you want - fics, art, memes, whatever you like! Let your imagination run wild to your heart's content! As you can see in the corner there, this prompts list is OPTIONAL and you can do whatever you want! Don't let your vision be constrained - unleash your brilliance!

There are also a couple of event rules:

Submissions must feature VaniGrey in a central role.
Please do not submit AI-generated works.
Please be respectful to each other.
Make sure to tag me at @dapple-events with your submissions so I can find and reblog them!
