I say this every time I argue for raising the minimum wage. I never hear anyone else say it and I’m glad I found this.

If you build your business and your bonus on the backs of others who you don’t pay a living wage you don’t deserve to be in business.

Since I tend to get into this with people who argue that robots will replace minimum wage workers if they get too expensive, I like to lean into the robot metaphor.

If you have a machine performing a valuable talk for your company, the upkeep of that machine is part of your operating cost. You have to pay to power it, to upgrade it, to fix it when it breaks. And if you can’t afford the machine, the manufacturer doesn’t have to do business with you. They’re free to take their service somewhere else where they think the price is fair.

For humans, a living wage is the operating cost. If you can’t afford to pay your worker enough to live nearby, feed themselves, and get basic health care - all of which are things they need in order to be able to work for you - you’re failing to pay for the cost of their service. 

The difference is that humans have to eat, like, all the time, so they often don’t have the option of taking their business somewhere else if the price isn’t fair - even insufficient food and shelter is better then starving on the street. But that means those people are not really able to act as agents in a free market, and it’s easy to exploit them under the guise of “the market setting the price.” People can’t act like reasonable economic agents when they’re desperate. As for as I can tell, that’s the whole point of having a minimum wage.

Do i need to explain the concept of inflation to you guy?  raise min wage, solve problem of poverty for what? 3 to 5 years then the min wage hike catches up to us and then everything effectively costs the same amount it did before only now with newer bigger numbers? , in simple terms, give a worker who now is payed 7 an hour 15 an hour, we now all have to pay 16 bucks for that burger that used to cost 8, putting back at square one again. To truly fix poverty we need to lower min wage, and make it easier to get higher paying jobs. that way we get to throw someone under the bus so everyone else can live beater. which is the natural order of the world. In the wild that’s how it works, someone dies, someone eats. Humanity has tried to pander to the weak starving us all. Fact is someone needs the short end of the stick. Cant have yin without yang, good without bad. you talk of a fantasy where all is good and there is no bad. that is impossible you can not have good with out bad.

Heres a Photo i had Ruffus take during our camping trip we took during this last  Moon Festaval. we decided to all take a trip to  Sparkhoney Woods this past Nightgate.

ps for our reades on earth,  Nightgate is the last month of our 13 month calender Whitefall being the 12th.  and the moon festival is close to something like haloween and christmas combined  but..ughh not really its hard to explain youd need to be sat down and study our culture, but its a long holaday, several months long, but we only get time off near the begining and end, and just kinda keep the spirit during the  bulk of it. it lasts the entire harvest seasion and  is mostly for that, that and scareing the crap out of others…and getting presents….only if there not actuly scares in discuise><

Yes i do belive i can, sory if my responce has been slow in coming. but i was  deep in my lab running some highly complex tests of my own, just send over the spifactions, and i can have you one within a  month if not sooner. im sure it wont be too hard to construct, as it sounds verry similar to equipment i curently use. i take it it is a power generator?  im sory if im wrong, i am from Crystalis  so im not the best with your human terminology,  but fear not, i am cappable.
