Batman ghosts up to the teenaged cluster, approaching from behind Chaps and his dance partner. Now that he’s not above them, something pings in his rolodex of faces- Wallace West in gym clothes, Roy Harper in the jean shorts. Queen, his email will start, followed shortly by In making my rounds though Gotham I happened upon your ward in an inebriated state and encouraging other underaged persons to break the law. I am inquiring as to if this is something you were aware of, have taught him was acceptable, or have given your approval for, and if not-  Batman clears his throat, and the gyrators turn as one towards him. Shaded by the improbable brim of his partner’s hat, Dick Grayson looks up at him.

I think dick might be angry with his mother, for leaping after her husband to die with him rather than staying with her son, after raising damian. I think he would look into his eyes on some random morning doing the school run and realise that he wouldnt leave him alone in the world for anyone or anything. That they would have to pry damian out of his cold dead hands, and that he would dig his way out of hell to get back to him. I think that would make him really angry

I think he would see admissions of love fundamentally as a lie. Not a malicious one, but like the strongest bond on earth is meant to be mother and son, and it wasnt enough for mary to choose him. She left him alone in the world. Like he can’t ever give himself over into love truly and trust a relationship, because there are bounds where that love snaps and no one knows where they are, so lets not find out. And i think in raising damian and feeling that kind of unconditional love he MIGHT be able to reevaluate that fundamental and early betrayal, and actually give himself over to another person. Its so crazy, i want to kill Bruce again w hammers

*goes to Coachella in a white linen suit like an antebellum lawyer, sweating profusely and dabbing at my forehead with a handkerchief* now, I’m no fancy scientist, but would you folk know where a simple gentleman such as myself could obtain some acid? Now, I’m no big city lawyer, but could any of you fine youths point a country boy such as myself in the direction of some fucking acid?

it's funny whenever scully thinks she's entertaining his delusion and mulder responds with a different delusion

“If a society puts half its children into short skirts and warns them not to move in ways that reveal their panties, while putting the other half into jeans and overalls and encouraging them to climb trees, play ball, and participate in other vigorous outdoor games; if later, during adolescence, the children who have been wearing trousers are urged to “eat like growing boys,” while the children in skirts are warned to watch their weight and not get fat; if the half in jeans runs around in sneakers or boots, while the half in skirts totters about on spike heels, then these two groups of people will be biologically as well as socially different. Their muscles will be different, as will their reflexes, posture, arms, legs and feet, hand-eye coordination, and so on. Similarly, people who spend eight hours a day in an office working at a typewriter or a visual display terminal will be biologically different from those who work on construction jobs. There is no way to sort the biological and social components that produce these differences. We cannot sort nature from nurture when we confront group differences in societies in which people from different races, classes, and sexes do not have equal access to resources and power, and therefore live in different environments. Sex-typed generalizations, such as that men are heavier, taller, or stronger than women, obscure the diversity among women and among men and the extensive overlaps between them… Most women and men fall within the same range of heights, weights, and strengths, three variables that depend a great deal on how we have grown up and live. We all know that first-generation Americans, on average, are taller than their immigrant parents and that men who do physical labor, on average, are stronger than male college professors. But we forget to look for the obvious reasons for differences when confronted with assertions like ‘Men are stronger than women.’ We should be asking: ‘Which men?’ and ‘What do they do?’ There may be biologically based average differences between women and men, but these are interwoven with a host of social differences from which we cannot disentangle them.”

Yes.

Here, have a study (x) showing that mothers underestimate their daughter’s physical capacity from as young as 11 months old (though in reality it’s identical to that of their son’s at the same age). And if you think that parents acting on those expectations won’t alter their children’s development, then I have a sloped bridge to sell you.
