I like the trend of singler player splatoon trailers hinting at who the antagonist will be.

Splatoon 2's hero mode trailer ends with the camera panning up over its official artwork and Callie's laugh being heard as her silhouette enters frame.

At the end of the 2018 splatoon 2 world championships finals, another version of the octo expansion trailer is shown to the crowd. Before it finishes, there is a clip of agent 8 looking at the ringing telephone. (commander tartar)

If the sight of fur covered octarians wasn't enough of a giveaway early on in the ROTM trailer, right after the title of the game appears on screen, we see a scene of neo agent 3 turning fuzzy after making contact with fuzzy ooze. This is followed up by a cut to black displaying nothing but the text "Return of the Mammalians" accompanied by a sound extremely similar to the one mr. grizz is known to make. Chills everytime.

It took me up until making this post to learn how overlorder is teased in the 9.14.2023 side order trailer. For the longest time, I figured it was an audio clue but now I've come to the understanding that the colorful glitch effect which takes over the screen here is the same as what order and overlorder display. It's actually pretty obvious but, maybe I hadn't noticed because I find order less interesting than the other splatoon antagonists.

And now we arrive to my reason for wanting to make this blog in the first place. The splatoon raiders reveal trailer concludes with a incredibly brief close-up of an opening eye. We have no idea what this eye belongs to and I don't think we are supposed to, which is super exciting to me. We don't even know if this in fact belongs to the game's main antagonist.
