it's actually so crazy how much the simpsons would fucking suck if it didn't have any of the simpsons characters. just a bunch of shots of empty houses and streets for half an hour while nothing happens. that would be so badddd lol
while the spineless democrat jokes are funny, it's worth acknowledging these people don't actually have some sort of personality flaw preventing them from taking action but rather that they see themselves benefiting more when not taking action. as long as they're still holding office, they can afford to ignore concerns of their voter base (especially with the whole "vote blue no matter who" attitude persisting).
on the surface the trump administration may seem detrimental to "world order", but in reality it's more of a gloves-off look at long existing problems with US hegemony, and the fact that many respected leaders are using a cost-benefit analysis when it comes to giving a fuck about anyone
