Something so disgusting about how the original Haitian zombie folklore is "the zombies are victims of a sorcerer who exploits them as slaves" and then modern zombie media is "the zombies just appear from an infection that turns Real People into a rampaging horde serving no other purpose than to threaten Civilization" like.
The Haitian zombie is very clearly metaphorical for the very real horrors of slavery, while the viral zombie is fundamentally about "what if there was a type of guy it was completely okay to kill and you got to exist in a survivalist fantasy as a Badass, also when infrastructure collapses it's every man for himself and altruism goes away"
And isn't it super interesting to think about that in the context of historical US-Haiti relations?

Ok so it's clear to me that some of y'all are having issues with this video. As someone who understands breed specific behaviors and dog body language this shit is objectively hilarious to me. Lemme explain why:
Beagles are a very vocal breed. They are hound dogs, specifically hunters, so their job is to communicate and be extra loud when excited or a "treat" is found.
Due to their nature as hounds, and in part genetically predisposed health issues, they get fat often. They're prone to eat too much and need exercise. Old beagles tend to get over weight.
This dog is not biting, frustrated, or aggressive. He's wagging his tail, licking his owner, and engaging in hunting behaviors (barking, sniffing, pointing, and nipping.) This dog is trying to catch his treat. He's working for his reward.
TLDR: The dog is having fun. Don't take it seriously. Using a crunchy mic with a beagle makes his barking sound so funny. Enjoy the humor.

female characters are always lighter than male characters. strong characters are almost always dark. aggressive characters are almost always dark. peaceful and intelligent characters are almost always light. even amongst darker characters the lightest one is usually either the leader or the girls. dark is evil and light is good.
if you try to explain this to a white person they look at you like youre insane
briefly pursuing a career in animation radicalized me on this. So many stories from the industry about how you have to start with your character design as dark as possible, because INEVITABLY you'll get "notes" from higher-ups asking you to make them lighter.
In a class about making a pitch bible my teacher once role-played as a shitty executive with a classmate, pressing them in intentionally abrasive ways about why they made their characters diverse. He emphasized that we had to learn to defend these things, because the racism in the industry is extremely deliberate.

Right like there aren’t several parts of masculine puberty changing your face and voice, the parts of you that you Can do the least to ignore or hide.
Things like deepening on the voice that totally hasn’t famously caused a lot of transfems to be afraid to use their voices for their entire lives.
Mor y’know facial hair, something that also hasn’t famously been used as an excuse for why a fictional trans Girl didn’t get so scared she died from a heart attack.
We all know that is just fiction and not at all a response to the dread real world transfems face due to these changes.
They totally aren’t the face of most transphobic caricatures, and then by themselves become motivators to hide your feelings because they make you “not woman enough”
Yea clearly these aren’t something that cause lifelong stress and trauma for transfems.
