Now that it’s finally public, and I’m no longer bogged down by ArtFight/life/etc, I can at long last share the special side project I helped work on for pretty much all of June-

I made a whole shitload of sprites for @elbdot’s Comic Anniversary PKMN Moon stream series! :D

Every Pokemon I was assigned got a fully rendered+shaded piece, and a Shiny alt (it wasn’t required, but just in case- you never know! :D) I also did a couple special Costume variants, and the final piece was a big collab with Nitric in El’s server to make Zygarde Complete Forme! That one in particular happened due to a small oopsie where both me and Nitric were mistakenly double-assigned Zygarde 50% xD And then El had the brilliant idea to split the 100% piece between the three of us, with El herself doing the base sketch- I think it turned out super rad <3

(And for those curious- the Costumed Mimikyu is disguised as Dusk from El’s team, since “Pikachu costume didn’t work” lmaooooo)

I did @chipper-smol ’s dragon wheel! I took a few creative liberties to make the prompt work xD But nonetheless have a moose wyvern!

While the stocky body prevents the Wymoose from flying great distances, the thick muscle and powerful build allow them to tank blows from predators and each other. They go into brutal combat during rut season, where males develop spikes along the mace tail, which they use to bludgeon their opponents in a vy for the attention of females. Female Wymoose don’t develop spikes, but maintain the club tail for self defense and protection of their young. Keeping hatchlings safe from harm is a matter of grave importance among mated pairs and their flight. Males that lose a rut and take control of flights assume the responsibility of caring for existing wyrmlings while fathering more of their own. Ousted males will shed their antlers and mace spikes earlier than successful males, with all members of the species regrowing them the following year.

Introducing, the fastest dog Toon in town!

Made yet another Fiasco character- this time for a Toon-themed playbook I wrote myself :D I played the game with some friends, and we had a great time with so many incidental gags and the toon logic was fuckin everywhere it was fantastic. Muddy is the fastest little wiener dog in town, and he’s an old Toon long retired from the cartoon business, now the owner and operator of Googie’s Diner! He has 1 other Toon employee he’s hoping will be his successor, and runs takeout orders by himself- he’s faster than any car in the city on foot! When he needs to vent some pent-up stress, Muddy retreats to a warehouse where he built musical instruments out of abandoned junk, treating the space as a combination auditorium and rage room.

I return from a much-needed vacation away from home and JESUS CHRISTMAS a lot of people like House Fae Bill! I’m so glad people like my stained glass little gremlin version of the Big Triangle himself ;u;

Since people showed interest, and I’m still in a Gravity Falls mood, I’ll pose a question! Do you want more illustrated House Fae Bill content? I can post the lore document like some people have asked, but tbh I kinda wanna draw some of it! And I know that personally if I just share all the text lore at once, my brain will check it off as Task Completed and I’ll lose my gusto to make more for it xD

Don’t expect full-shaded full-color productions tho, they’ll probably be cleaned sketches like those above, maybe lined with color if I feel like it. I have a few potential ideas, so if you’re curious, here’s a poll of the things I’m considering drawing!

Took a little break to indulge in my ancestral fandom! With the resurgence of Gravity Falls thanks to The Book of Bill, I’ve been inspired by the many new AU Bills to throw my hat and make my own- I’m cringe and I’m free

This is House Fae Bill! I made a truly massive text loredump for myself that I’m not going to add here for post length reasons, but let’s just say I thought way too long and hard about this xD

TL;DR basic concept is- House Fae are a type of spirit-like fae that come from the woods and dwell in constructed homes! They start out formless, but develop a unique avatar with elements and iconography pulled from their chosen abode- and in Bill’s case, it was the windows (that’s right- in my AU, the windows happened first! xD). When a house fae possesses a home, it becomes their territory as well as their physical body. The influence of the fae is limited to the building itself and a very small margin around it (think the Unicorn Barrier from the show), but within the home itself, the fae can manipulate objects and architecture to achieve their goals. They also don’t show themselves to the homeowners if they can help it, so Ford went a bit nuts for a while wondering who was organizing his nerd clutter all the time lmao

House fae are commonly mistaken for more well-known home-related fairies such as nisse/tomtu and brownies. In reality, house fae are a separate species in direct competition with these urban fairies. House fae, nisse, and brownies all have overlapping functions in the household, but house fae are extremely territorial and protective of their charges (homeowners and their families), and won’t tolerate the presence of competing fairies who could pose a threat, unless absolutely necessary. House fae that lack sufficient influence may be forced to endure a reluctant roommate situation until they gain enough power to assert any kind of dominance.

Short and sweet answer?

I’m taking a hiatus from doing Pokemon comic stuff! ArtFight is also in play right now, so half my art spoons for the rest of July/early August are going to making art of cool characters. Additionally, my attention shifted back to Among Us, and with the amount of asks I’ve received for my precious Cyan bean (seriously holy cow!!), it will likely be there for a while c||

Longer, less kind and more emotionally blunt answer?

I lost a good amount of my motivation to do it, in no small part because it felt like- for lack of a better word- nobody really gave a shit? There’s lots of Mewtwo and Mewtwo-related fusion blogs going around, so I think my stuff got lost in the fog. I know, I know, ‘two cakes’ and all that; but when you bring a cake to a party, and it feels like everybody else has someone enjoying their cake while yours gets ignored on the table, it sucks. That’s not to say I’m entitled to people giving my blog any attention; hell, I jump hyperfixations all the time! And all those blogs are fantastic, I follow several and continue to enjoy the journey they’ve taken! They deserve every bit of credit to contributing a huge following and love for Pokemon and Mewtwo on Tumblr, it’s a wonderful thing they’re all doing. But to pour a substantial amount of time and effort into my own pieces over weeks and months, pushing myself to try and make full comic pages with backgrounds and challenging angles so I could improve… to be met with crickets? It really sucks, and takes an ice cream scoop out of your motivation every time someone passes it by. It feels like yelling into an open canyon, and hoping there’s hikers down below who will yell something back to you. I just got unlucky, and haven’t had any hikers in the canyon pass by. There’s only so many times you can scream into the void and get silence before your voice grows hoarse and you stop trying.

I got more follower engagement telling funny stories with my Among Us bean in the first week than I did for the first month of making Pokemon comics. So, my spoons are going there for now- I’m simply enjoying it more right now!

I still have a story I badly want to tell, but I have to think about my own emotional wellbeing and ration my spoons promptly. I do still work a full-time STEM job, so priority must be given to work, but my art priorities on the side have temporarily shifted. Rest assured, I do plan to return to the comic I started one day- just not now c:>

Bloodbath, the Cobbled Plush

An MSP (Malevolent Sentient Plushie) Poogle from Neopets! He was a dream pet of mine for a long time, and I got insanely lucky and found him in the pound! He was an instant permanent resident with my beloved digital animals cx

Bloodbath is a cobbled-together plushie; his upper half is Poogle plush, the lower half Lupe (he insists it’s Werelupe), and dark faerie wings were stitched onto his torso. A labor of love from a twisted toymaker, the MSP gained sentience when his creator passed, and took over the toymaker’s shop as his personal laboratory for nefarious toy deeds! While he claims he’s the greatest villain the world of toys has ever seen, his true evil capabilities are about on par with Team Rocket, his exploits only grandiose to his fellow workshop toys.
