based on this post wherein i had the idea to draw dual-type pokemon with their primary and secondary types flipped, which in this fun experiment also flips the emphasis of aspects of their design
this is psychic/ground baltoy, a weird psychic cosmic alien kinda guy who collects space debris in its orbit. sometimes it accidentally collects miniors which it then launches at passing solrocks and lunatones for funsies

#YEAH I'M REBLOGGING THIS TWICE IN A ROW #TUMBLR ATE HALF OF MY TAGS #if you wanna read the stuff i said about Monk go look at the previous post #this is about Erik now #Gio is really good at body types. this includes fat people but also people of different ages #you can see this really well here #the ages Erik is here are 4 7 15 and 19 #and he looks his age in every phase #i love 4yo Erik's lil babie hands and his big-eyed stare #i love 4yo and 7yo's squishy faces and how his face and body gradually sharpen up as he gets older #i love how even his hair is softer when he's younger #it's the shape language. it's the through-line #he's recognisable as the same person through all phases but he also looks unique in all of them #babie Erik is not just a smaller teen Erik. he actually looks like he grows up #which is awesome and a testament to how great Gio is at this #you can see the weight of the fabric in each outfit and you can see that the clothes he wears as a kid are too big for him #and you can see that the clothes he wears as a teen by comparison DO fit and help define his body #i love how the expressions and poses work together. as usual #especially with 19yo Erik. the confident pose and big grin effortlessly show his mentality as 'the star' #also. HOLY FUCK?????? #and in this case she has drawn a fat person and a person with heavy body damage without compromising either whatsoever #Monk's body is ragged. Literally torn apart by the millennia of overwork he endured #he is held together by the spirits that live in his hollow body. who create spiritual energy to literally keep him together #AND YOU CAN TELL! #the way the lines look. with the way they dip in a bit to show the depth without sacrificing the silhouette #perfect balance and perfect Monk #and LOOK at all of the little lines showing how his weight sits and stretch marks. a level of detail god himself is jealous of #and for the clothes. the way the fabric falls and the way the beads sit and you can see how gravity affects all of it #and how the empty shoulder of the kimono sits showing the structure provided by the garment whilst also showing that there's nothing there #now let's talk about Erik- #EDIT: HEY DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN RUN OUT OF TAGS #FUCK #I HAD WRITTEN SO MUCH MORE
