Master List:

The Bad Batch comes against something they have not seen before, but unfortunately for them their medic has, with the 104th Wolfpack.

Num, Rune, Loose, and Dip's journey through the years. They experience more hardship then other clones do, but they don't let it stop them.

Echo and Fives are riduure, there pups are Tup and Dogma with another pup (or two). This is their journey.

Wolffe: Fox! I'm going to kick your shebs! Fox, pointing a blaster at him: The CMO says I can't overexert myself. All I can do is stun. Or get creative with some bolts. Wolffe, taking off his helmet to show how worried he is: You really are fragile... Fox: I will die just to prove you wrong... Wolffe, wrapping Fox up in a hug: A stroke...I almost lost you to a stroke... Fox, chuckling: The universe knew no one else could take me down, so it had to take me down from the inside. Cody: Fox! Fox, looking over his shoulder: I thought death was sneaking up on me. Wolffe, chuckling: Well, we would all die for glory. Fox, chanting: Kote! Cody, smiling sadly: Sorry...I just...didn't want to startle you, you know? Fox, sighing: Yeah...Thanks... Cody, opening his arms: Can I--? Fox, giving in with a nod: You can. Cody, jogging up to him to hug him: How are you feeling? Fox, rubbing Cody's back: I'm fine, Kot'ika...I'm taking my medicine as prescribed, and I've been...allowing others to handle some of my less sensitive duties...I'll be handing my armor off to Thorn later so he can handle my evening tasks while I rest. Cody, laughing: You? Resting? I never thought I would see the day. Bly, running towards Fox: Fox! Wolffe, stepping in front of Fox: Not so fast! Bly, slowing: I know...I know. I just-- Cody: Force, you're crying, aren't you? Fox, pulling Bly into a tight hug: I'm ok, vod'ika. I'm ok. Bly: I couldn't sit still the whole way back to Coruscant...I just kept thinking we needed to go faster, because...what if--? Fox: Don't think like that. I'm taking care of myself, alright? The CMO is actually proud of me. Bly, laughing: That's a first... Rex: That better be you, Fox! Fox, taking off his helmet: It's me, Rex'ika. Rex, hugging him tightly: I was afraid it'd be Thire or Thorn covering for you...and I'd have to visit you in bed...hooked up to a bunch of machines...or worse... Fox: Oof...Did Thire tell you I was dying? Rex: No, I was just... Cody: Worried. Wolffe: We all are. Fox: Not even were? I feel fine. Bly: And you look fine, but... Rex: The reality is you're not fine... Cody: We almost lost you, Fox... Fox: I know...but not even I could take me down. Not for lack of effort... Wolffe: Fox. Fox: I'm joking... Rex, chuckling: At least you're in good spirits... Fox: I don't really have a choice. I have to keep my blood pressure down... Rex: Oh...

Fox: Which one of you told them? Thire, sighing: I told them not to overwhelm you with calls... Fox: Everyone is headed to Coruscant. Thorn: Wow... Stone: Even Alpha-17? Fox: You told Seventeen'buir? Thire: You would want to know if he almost died, Fox. Don't you think he would want to know-- Fox: I'm fine! Thorn: You had a stroke! Fox: I-- Fox, after taking a calming breath: Nothing happened. I have no numbness, no brain fog, nothing. Stone: You're on medication including blood thinners, Fox. Thire: Around people who are hostile towards us. Thorn: You have to worry about having another stroke and bleeding out if anyone draws blood. Fox: I'm not worried. Stone: No, because you're not facing it. Thire: At all. You won't talk about it for more than a minute. The CMO has to hunt you down to give you your medication. Thorn: Fox, I know it's scary-- Fox: I'm not afraid of dying. I never have been. Thorn: Then why are you avoiding this issue? Fox: I'm not. Stone: You are. Fox: I'm not. Thire: You absolutely are. Fox, snapping: I said I'm not! Thorn: ... Stone: ... Thire: ... Fox: ...This is stupid...I'm a soldier. I'm supposed to be killed in battle, die an honorable death, not die because I'm too...stressed out by work... Thorn: Fox...You just have to keep up with your medication. You'll be fine... Fox: You keep treating me like I'm dying... Stone: We're treating you like you almost died... Thire: Because you did. Fox: ...I just...hate it... Thorn: I know...but you have to face it so it doesn't turn into what you're afraid of. Fox: You're right...

Cloneship Rare Pair 2026 Announcement Post

Good day fellow fans!

Now that 2025 is coming to a close, it is time to discuss this event for 2026. This year, instead of nominating a bunch of ships and then having two featured ships each month, we wanted to keep the same format (a bingo card and “featured” month) but broaden the event after feedback taken through out the year.

Thus, this year's event is going to feature a group of clones for each section, instead of a specific ship.

This means any ship that includes one clone from each group that has less than 30 total fanworks on ao3 will now count toward that month/bingo card requirement!

This will hopefully allow more people to participate with their favorite characters, instead of asking people to perhaps write characters they do not know as well, or ships they are not as keen on. These ships can include poly groupings as well.

For example, if one wanted to write a specific character for the whole year, and pair them with various other clones from each group, they could! Or they could pick entirely unique characters for every month of the year.

For each month I will list a few clones that might qualify for the group, just to get the brain moving, though these will not be exhaustive lists. Some clones technically fall into more than one category as well. Again, each ship only requires one member from the group to count for that category, so you are not limited to only shipping legends clones with legends clones for example.

Month by month list with potential clones for each category below:

Hound: Huh... Thorn: What's up? Hound: Fox just tripped over his own feet again...Does he seem off to you this morning? Thorn: Probably just tired... Thorn, after observing Fox for a minute: ...Huh... Hound: See what I mean? Thorn: Why does he keep flexing his hand like that? Hound: Huh? Oh, I see what you mean! Hm...I don't know. I'm more worried about how he's lifting one leg more than the other...like he's trying not to drag it... Thorn: ... Hound: ... Thorn: I'm contacting the CMO... Hound: Yeah. Better safe than sorry. Thorn, breaking the silence a few hours later at a meeting of the commanders: A stroke...He had a stroke... Thire: I saw him twice this morning...All I noticed was his slurred speech, and I just assumed he hadn't slept...If it wasn't for you, Thorn-- Thorn: Hound...Hound pointed it out to me first. I just thought he was tired too... Stone: He was in my office earlier, and I didn't even look up from my work... Thire: We would have let him die... Stone: How did Fox not notice? Thorn: He did. He thought he had a pinched nerve. He was trying to walk it off and flex the feeling back into his fingers. Stone: Had I noticed, I would have assumed the same thing, not-- Thire: That he had a deadly clot...With Fox's habits, we need to know what his risks are and what to look out for. Thorn, have the CMO put together a report for us. Thorn: On it. Thire: Stone... Stone: Yes? Thire: You have prisoners with medical conditions, right? Stone: Of course. Thire: Do you have footage of them having medical emergencies? Stone: I do. We need it to prove we had nothing to do with their condition. I see where you're going with this. Once I have the CMO's report, I'll compile footage of what the symptoms look like. Thire: Perfect. I'll...inform his closest vode...They need to know not to stress him out too much for a while...

people getting mad at ao3 for rightfully being firmly against censorship and allowing dark fics that depict taboo subjects in explicit details to be on their platform is so funny to me because ao3 was created specifically to be a fuck you to capitalism and censorship. the point of ao3 is that it’s a place to host and archive any fanwork, which includes fanwork about taboo topics that are not allowed on other platforms like wattpad or fanfiction.net

the whole point of ao3 is that it’s a safe space for all fics, and that includes fics about taboo subjects

ao3 has always been firmly against censorship since the day it was created, that’s why it’s run by fans, for fans, on fans’ donations, why it’s a nonprofit organization, that’s also why it has no ads or algorithms or any of those capitalism bullshit

if you have a problem with that, go to fanfiction.net or wattpad. no one forces you to stay in the house made specifically for the (affectionate) freaks

How to write HATEABLE Villains

1. Give them power over something the reader cares about A villain who can’t actually hurt anything important is just annoying. Give them control over a person, a system, a truth, or a resource the protagonist and reader are emotionally invested in.

2. Make them punch down, not up Readers hate villains who abuse people with less power. Targeting children, the vulnerable, the innocent, or the desperate instantly signals moral rot.

3. Let them feel justified The most infuriating villains believe they’re right. They don’t see themselves as cruel, they see themselves as necessary, logical, or “doing what must be done.”

4. Make them calm while doing terrible things Cold politeness, soft voices, or pleasant manners paired with cruelty feels far more disturbing than loud rage. It creates emotional whiplash that sticks.

5. Give them small, petty cruelty on top of big evil Genocide is abstract. Stealing someone’s last comfort, humiliating someone publicly, or enjoying another person’s fear feels personal — and that’s what makes readers angry.

6. Let them win more than feels fair A villain becomes hateable when they keep getting away with it. Let them succeed. Let them walk free. Let them hurt people without consequence — for a while.

7. Deny the reader catharsis Cut away before justice. Interrupt revenge. Delay consequences. The lack of emotional release builds frustration that gets attached directly to the villain.

8. Make them emotionally invasive They don’t just hurt bodies — they manipulate, gaslight, shame, isolate, and reframe reality. They make the protagonist doubt themselves.

9. Let them corrupt something good They twist love into control, faith into obedience, loyalty into fear, or law into cruelty. Watching something pure rot because of them creates hatred fast.

10. Don’t soften them with too much sympathy A tragic backstory can explain behavior, but if you want them hateable, don’t excuse it. Let the story clearly show that their pain does not justify their harm.

How to Fix Underwriting

1. Slow down at emotionally important moments.

Big emotions need space to land. If a scene feels rushed, pause the plot briefly to show how the moment affects the character.

2. Add reactions, not explanations.

Instead of explaining what a character feels, show it through physical responses, hesitation, or small actions that reveal emotion naturally.

3. Ground every scene in the senses.

If a scene feels thin, add one or two sensory details—sound, texture, smell, or temperature—to make the moment feel lived-in.

4. Let thoughts interrupt action.

A line of internal thought can deepen a scene without slowing it too much. Thoughts show stakes, fear, longing, or conflict beneath the action.

5. Expand consequences, not events.

You don’t need more things to happen—you need to show what matters. Focus on how events change relationships, decisions, or self-perception.

6. Strengthen setting where emotion peaks.

The environment should echo or contrast the emotion of the scene. Setting is not decoration—it’s emotional reinforcement.

7. Add specific details instead of general ones.

Underwriting often relies on vague language. Swap “they argued” for one sharp line of dialogue or a specific breaking point.

8. Let dialogue breathe.

Short dialogue exchanges without pauses can feel flat. Add beats—silence, gestures, interruptions—to give the conversation weight.

9. Show transitions between scenes.

If scenes jump too quickly, readers feel disoriented. A brief transition helps establish time, mood, and emotional continuity.

10. Clarify stakes early in the scene.

If readers don’t know what can be lost, scenes feel empty. Make sure the character wants something specific and fears losing it.

11. Use the “what are they feeling right now?” check.

After each major beat, ask what emotion is dominant in that moment. If it’s missing on the page, the scene is likely underwritten.

12. Expand scenes that feel “too clean.”

If a scene resolves too neatly or quickly, it probably needs more tension. Messy emotions and unresolved feelings add depth.

Ways That Fear Can Show Up (Without Saying “Fear”)

When it creeps:Foreboding — the air feels wrong before anything actually happens. • Ominousness — silence that feels almost... purposeful. • Misgiving — your instincts tugging at your sleeve, whispering, "Don't."

When it hits fast:Shock — your brain blanks • Startled— your heart slams, you inhale • Panic — thoughts fracture; your instincts beg for escape

When it lingers:Tension — jaw locked, shoulders up near your ears. • Anxiety — background noise that lingers in every thought • Dread — knowing something bad is coming and having to wait for it.

When it turns physical:Shivers — cold crawling up the spine. • Sweat, dilated pupils, skin gone pale — your own body betrays you. • Weakness — knees like jelly, grip unreliable.

When it overwhelms:Terror — too big to think around. • Horror — something has gone wrong. • Paralysis — body refusing orders.

When it distorts reality:Paranoia — patterns where there are none. • Suspicion — every sound feels intentional. • Unease — the sense of being watched without proof.

Hello! I'm not sure if you're still taking prompts for the Twelve Days of Clonemas, but if you do I would love to request some Rex/Echo or Rex & Echo + Snowflake (Day 14) from the Fluffcember Winter Edition prompts. Please and many many thanks! ❤️

Avatar

i have no explanation for this one but it is very silly

on the seventh day of clonemas, kamino gave to me: rex and echo and a romantic moment. about balls.

a man wearing a poncho is bold. his lover is a hero. | ao3

They'd gone to Barton IV following a tip from Crosshair, something about the old outpost maybe having an access link to current intel, and the abandoned depot being worth a poke around for remaining viable munitions. The planet sat at the back end of the galaxy, they'd been assured by both Crosshair and the commander he'd dragged in behind him, but would be quiet enough for a brief visit.

Can be a bit chilly, the commander had added, offhand.

A bit karking chilly?

"I think I'm going to murder that man," Rex mused, as he considered the vast icy nothingness of Barton IV.

The vast icy nothingness where he and Echo were stuck until Hunter and his brain trust arrived with more fuel, because someone hadn't double-triple-quadruple checked the bit of the ship that was apparently vital for fuel retention purposes. The bit that had decided that frigid nerf-herding nowhere was the absolute best place to retire.

Everything had a shelf-life, it seemed.
