Greg Potter This is an album I keep going back to. It’s heady with synthwave nostalgia, but that’s not the only reason. The vocals are polished, but not overproduced. They retain a pleasing rawness. The lyrical content is finely balanced - intriguing, but accessible. I keep finding myself singing along to Police Love, for example. Musically, though, it’s a standout. It’s not often that I listen to electronica and wish I’d written those songs. This is one of those albums. Favorite track: Good Times.

This EP is the result of a decade-long collaboration/friendship between Western Australian electronic music makers Allison Labs (Sarah Turvey & Jeremy von Kobra) and South West-based artist, performer and agent provocateur Jim Able . Informed by the events happening around us in our own lives and on the global stage, Blue Rat is a perversely funny investigation of the lurking fear that awakens us in a cold sweat every night.
