The guilt of having scared the living daylights out of the other man began to filter away as he saw the priest relaxing a little, wondering what had him so caught up in his thoughts before his entrance. Blue eyes took in the sight of the man before him, then glanced around the grand room, admiring the way the colours shone from the stained glass as the sun pierced through them. It was something he had always found amazing growing up, the beauty of the inside of a church. His gaze returned to the priest when Andy heard his voice, a soft smile on his lips when he reached out to shake the offered hand.
"Great to meet you too, Father. I'm Andrew Callahan, but please just call me Andy. I only really get Andrew when I'm in trouble." Releasing the other's hand, he shoved his own back into the pocket of his jeans. "I'd really like that, actually. I'm originally from Ireland, but I've been here for around five years now? I don't really have somewhere to call home yet, so I've been traveling mostly. Just trying to find somewhere I feel like I belong, if that makes sense?"
“Andy.” Levi nods again, committing the name to memory along with the picture captured of his face. “You’ve come to the perfect place then. We are all wanderers on earth searching for a home we are yet to see. Sojourners. I don’t have all of the answers, but I know who does and can recommend a pretty good book.” He has never assumed anyone’s relation to christ when in conversation with a stranger. “But I am here if you have any questions, and if I cannot give you answer right away I promise to come back when I’ve had a chance to think on it and study. Have you attended a service before? Is this your first time?”

The movement caught him off guard and he stumbled, feeling the front of his shirt grabbed roughly. Vicente was right in his face now, the anger in his eyes and the venom in his words causing Andy to flinch.
"You're not that! Ok? But if you're too ashamed to be out in the open with me, then what the fuck am I supposed to do? Just sneak around and be your little secret, hide away and never say yes to anyone else? Fuck that. You either want me or you don't."
Aggravation crescendos in a groan of frustration, grip softening but refusing to let go. “You don’t. understand.” And how could Andy when Vic was unable to explain it. “I can’t, okay?” Too many eyes lurked in the shadows prying for leverage to use against him. His life was not his own and hadn’t been since he was an orphaned teenager wandering into a life of crime. Way in over his head without a clue of what he was agreeing to, Vicente had sold his life away to the mafia. Without his found family, he would have died in the streets of Mexico City. Moving to America had only been granted by people he worked for with plans for his future that Vicente had no choice but to say yes to.
“I need you to trust me. I mean it when I say I want you. I’m not ashamed of you, Cariño, of us. But I can’t explain it further.” Hands release, gently taking hold of Andy’s face. “Believe me when I say that you are the only thing I have in my life that’s mine and only mine… I don’t want that to change.”

Relief floods the man’s face, happy to see a man standing before him in the flesh. A normal looking man with a normal looking face very quite in tact and not bleeding from the eyes or melting flesh from bone. If only one could see the things that had been plaguing Father Boggs… well, they would understand why he was so jumpy as of late. This town was meant to be a fresh start. An escape. A haven.
Leviticus smiles, remembering propriety as compassion fills his heart. Yes! This was exactly why he had turned from the ways of darkness and followed the path of light. He wanted to help people. To guide people away from so many of the mistakes and sins he had made when he was younger.
“It’s very nice to meet you. I am Leviticus Boggs.” He extends his hand towards the man, nodding. “You and I are not so different. I’m also new to town. I’ve just began serving here this week in light of Father Harmon retiring. The church is always looking for new members of the congregation. You are more than welcome to join us for evening mass beginning in a few hours if you would like.” Humor glimmers in his smile. “Where are you from if I might ask?”
