this fanfic shit is easy as hell
i fear i am obsessed with these covers. the subtleties of each. i could write an essay.
heated rivalry
- we’ve got ilya vs shane, facing off on the ice, a literal line drawn between them
- shane looking shy while ilya looks suggestive/cocky, the smiles on their faces literally the only actual hint that they are anything more than rivals
- just them on the open ice, nothing else around. opposing teams, stark contrast.
the long game
- ilya & shane, meeting face to face, just barely touching because that’s all they can allow themselves
- both of them look in love, but clearly trying to tone it down - ilya doesn’t look smug or cocky, he genuinely looks like he’s trying to withdraw. even still, the colors are a little bit brighter, a little bit happier
- they may be alone on the open ice, but now we can see the boards and glass around them, like the outside world is starting to close in on them. opposing teams, but closer color palettes
unrivaled
- oh man. oh look at them. there’s no line between them. no subtle touches. they are literally in each other’s arms. there’s no reason to hide it anymore - they’re even on the same team
- their FACES. only eyes for each other. smiles meant for each other. they are husbands.
- again, open ice, completely alone. but then the fucking spotlight. so many potential layers here. they’re out in the open, they can be themselves in the light finally - except is being in that light going to be a challenge for them? but they’re on the same team. literally and figuratively - in hockey and in life.
take a few moments to think about the fact that every person on this planet looks up and sees the same moon and how fucking wonderful that is
this is wrong each person on earth has a differentmoon that follows them and at the end of your life it comes down to earth and squashes you and kills you

New behind the scenes photos of Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams from the Heated Rivalry Set
gothic horror is when there’s a location. cosmic horror is when there’s an unauthorized fucking Thing. folk horror is when you’re outside.
