Have you guys noticed how much the internet/technology just does not listen to you anymore? I click “don’t show this artist” on Spotify and I get recommended a music video by them on the front page. I click “skip this update” on a pop up every time I open a file organization app and it’s right back there every time. O click unsubscribe on a newsletter and it keeps showing up in my inbox!! I click “delete my account” and the next time I open the website they suggest I “reactivate”.

I grew up with this book, which is frickin’ enormous, and it was endlessly fascinating to young me to pour over the side by side comparison of events taking place concurrently under different headings and in different parts of the world.

kinktober progress update:

i have started rough-ish drafts for day 1 and 2. (edit: and 3) i have managed to write the word 'dick' in a sexual context (this is a big win btw)

im going to try and write in order, and i'll just post as i finish and try not to over-edit this time lol.

have decided i'll probably post as anon to start and then de-anon after a few days when i stop feeling so nervy abt it all. so if you see this u'll probably know the anon fics are mine. but thats fine bc people here have been very encouraging so far

update: somehow managed to write the entirety of the first draft of day 4 in one go. amazing. and i only hesitated at explicitly describing peoples junk once. also amazing.

update: have started a first draft or an outline for days 5-8

hoping to have caught up (at least first draft-wise) by sunday.

posting-wise, i'll just be glad to have posted one by the 31st lol

well i haven't caught up. lol. but i've started up to day 10 and hope to start a few more while i'm away for the next few days

was going to try and polish and post day 1 and then i went there and realised it was one of the ones that decided it wanted to be a bit longer. so uh. lets just say it's all going to be very late

so. it's been nearly a week.

i've started up to day 18, and been hit with a debilitating case of imposter syndrome

i think part of the problem is that the fics with the oc are going better and i know people can be funny about oc x canon stuff so i 1. feel like a fraud and 2. feel renewed terror at the thought of posting any of it

i havent forgotten abt these, but ive had zero motivation to write recently. all of them have been started or outlined, and a couple of first drafts are finished.
