Please help me with my research project!

Hello!

I am posting about this in hopes that it can garner enough traction to help me with a project of mine that is required assignment for a class of mine! For context of the research; it is about the Subversion of Heteronormativity in Kpop Demon Hunters. This aims to understand the overwhelming support and fast attraction that a fan ship (polytrix) took over in within the fandom.

If you are willing to participate please answer the survey form link posted here! Your participation is highly appreciated! But if you to not answer the survey please consider sharing to your friends or reblogging with the tag [#polytrix]

countering the reactionary urge to cling to the biological as "real" and "natural" could be a real point of coalition for disabled, intersex, and transgender/transsexual politics and it really should be. "the natural body" as a construct does not serve us and we do not have to keep making concessions to it. what makes my disabled transsexualised body any less 'natural'? why are we using 'natural' and 'biological' as short-hands for 'real', 'normal', or 'good'? what is there that truly divides the social world from the natural/real world? what merit is there in divorcing the social body from some imagined from of non-social body? something to think about

Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria is such a weird theory because it's like there's a very obvious explanation for why middle school kids who didn't have dysphoria before might suddenly have dysphoria. Like huh weird I wonder what very obvious and widely known change that could cause kids to suddenly become very uncomfortable in their gender or sexual identity starts in between the ages of 10 and 14. Guess we'll never know. Must be peer pressure to *checks notes* become the only gender minority in your whole school singling you out for harassment by your peers. Couldn't be puberty suddenly giving you new body parts/bodily functions that are wrong for you.

Dude congrats on being the first person to have a new and interesting observation on this post. Yeah, that's exactly what it's like. It's the desire to blame something external for who your child is because if you accepted the very obvious developmental explanation you would then have to admit that your child is a different kind of person than you instead of a mold-able mini me that you can force into your idyllic little nuclear family box you were imagining when you had them. Bigoted parents are terrified of their child not being exactly like them so they have to pretend that something like vaccines or peer pressure corrupted them. So much so that they'll put them through bleach treatments or conversion therapy or whatever in an attempt to fix them before they'll allow their child to be who they are.

Hey horny writer lil heads up for you guys, the “ai” google is forcing into docs to “scan for grammar errors” has been proved to also be scanning for spicy content and multiple ppl have already got notifs saying like “we’re sorry, there was a system error and some of your work was lost” and it was only the horny stuff so uh

Pleeeeease back up your files !!!! Don’t lose your horny to a robot, that’s Doc’s job, not Docs’…

hello horny writers of tumblr this is your shine to try out ellipsus instead of google docs. it's completely free and the team behind it have a very strong stance against the use of AI in creative spaces. I haven't been using it long but it works beautifully.

Can I just say, as a mostly homebound disabled person, that the people who keep making post saying how if you don't do activism irl you aren't doing anything at all, or that make it sound like not doing irl activism means you don't actually care, are being fucking ableist. And I've seen other disabled people do this too. Just cause you can go to protests, meetings, or other irl stuff, or your neighbors are safe to talk to, or you can afford to donate money doesn't mean everyone can.

Sharing verified/researched information online and getting myself more educated on stuff like politics, or history, or activist movements is about all I can manage, along with things like signing petitions and emailing my representatives. I do what I am capable of when I am capable.

A lot of you sound like you would feed me to the fucking fascists yourselves just so you can keep your perception of being the Correct Kind of activist.

This isn't even getting into the people who think everyone in red states should be left to fucking die in natural disasters. Not all of us are fucking republicans. Or what about the children that would die? Or people who can't vote? If you have to dehumanize (or ignore the existence of) people to get your point across, idk maybe your point is bad. Maybe you shouldn't be stereotyping entire states or methods of action like people are a monolith.

I hate the post this its so bad

I'm so tired right now so this is gonna be short but

1. even if it started from meaning people in general and then became specific to men, that doesn't change that men are now the default.

2. the idea that this change happened for unknown reasons but definitely not patriarchy, is silly. structural forces obviously have an effect on language and if you don't know how it changed claiming you know how it didn't change is extremely arrogant.

3. I looked this up to check if we actually don't know why the change happened and as it turns out the change never happened at all. this entire fact is made up. wer meant man, werman was never a word and is purely a fabrication, it would literally mean manman and there's no evidence of it being used historically. this is bunk etymology.

also:

aside from this being obviously anti feminist, the last addition is nonsense as well. etymology is important to a degree but the insult and the genitals are spelled and said exactly the same. guess what? this is nonsense bunk etymology too! the term pusillanimous is in no way linked to the term pussy being used as an insult. the former fell out of usage far before the later usage ever rose to popularity. They're also said very differently and are, or course, written differently.

this entire post is propagandistic cover for societal misogyny. do not take it at face value.

this is so deeply deeply ironic.

this post has over 100k notes by the way. people love laundering their sexism

When Rumi said 'Why couldn't you love me?!'

And Celine said 'I do'

And Rumi said 'ALL OF ME'

I felt that, you felt that, your neighbor felt that

And this is part of why K-pop Demon Hunters is so healing: it is recognizing that someone saying 'I tried' or 'I made a promise' isn't enough if they don't accept you fully and it doesn't matter who they are in your life. You deserve love that is freely given and accepts all of your complexities

I often talk about reality checking and going along with it when helping someone deal with delusions, but I felt as if I didn’t really make it clear to what I meant when I said it.

Recently I saw a post similar to “how to sneakily give your delusional friend a reality check when they told you not to” and honestly, that’ll just make us lose trust for you. Because we can tell when you do that.

I will say one thing about the events of the most recent episode (episode 64) under the cut

I’m so surprised how many people think the PCs and their characters are gonna take the curses seriously. And are upset. Like, y’all, they’re gonna wake up from the curses and go *blegh* bc (spoilers)

13 Beers at the Local Cheese Art Dump

So this is both a Headcanon but Canon 13BatLC!AU and a Zombie Apocalypse AU. At some point I’ll actually go through and explain both in more detail.

This has been the one fixation the past 2 months to help me get through my emotional instability and mental illness arc. Which, I AM working on getting updated meds, but I’m not actually back to being on Social Media yet. But I need more Local Cheese content in my life, so i figured I’d add to it too

First post is Canon!AU. I’ll post the rest in a second.

Can you tell who my favorite is?

Here’s my Shawn of the Dead-esque cover for my Zombie AU:

Here’s Knuckles’ ma and little Sibling Cam (and her fiancé):

Here’s Gal’s family (he was raised by his aunt: Peggy Flyler

And Random Dump of some doodles. I might expand more on these in a bit, it depends on my health

You get it.

This is exactly what Superman stands for.

Superman was created by two second-generation Jewish immigrants in the 1930s.

He was created to represent Jewish refugees, partially-assimilated immigrants, and orphan refugees. They couldn’t admit it at the time or he would never have been popular.

Whoever Little Light is they understand Superman far more than the majority of people.

Superman is the hardworking Hispanic immigrant who has developed a taste for apple pie.

The Muslim who plays baseball between prayer calls.

Every immigrant who still speaks their own language at home.

This is perfect and I love you for it.
