For anyone who cares I just made a side blog to post and reblog more random stuff that doesn’t fit this blog’s theme.

I’m also gonna be reblogging most of the non Elden Ring stuff I reblogged before there (like writing stuff, other fandoms I’m into, memes and cool eldritch art, etc.).

So if u want to keep seeing that stuff that’s where it will be from now on.

“it’s so fucked up we never got an age of abundance ending, miyazaki completely fucked over miquella in dlc :((((” wrong

Also Miquella representing abundance is CUT-CONTENT!

He literally says that he will create an “age of compassion”, and all his lines referring to abundance are from a cut version of the Malenia bossfight.

Cut content can be interesting, but you must never take it as fact, especially when it is contraticed by in game content.

Say it with me.

Miquella. Does. Not. Represent. Abundance. In. Canon.

they sure even changed euporia from being abundance and decay too, huh. now that you mention it, i dont think i even realized all overt text of him representing abundance was basically removed??

i do think some subtext is present and whatever (admittedly i use this title and “age of compassion” interchangeably whenever someone brings up lamenting no miquella ending), but yeah. all cut content!!

and whatever hints of a potential ending (which is literally just a monologue that parallels ranni’s, lets be real) getting cut was a good thing anyway. because what we ended up with was way more cohesive and interesting, and miquella doesn’t have to live imprisoned to (any more) dehumanization as an eternal savior figure 😔💔💔

Went and double check Euporia’s description:

It does mention abundance, but in reference to the city of Enir-Ilim rather than Miquella.

This makes sense because the city of Enir-Ilim is a spiraling structure built by the Hornsent to channel the Crucible’s power into the Gate of Divinity.

The Crucible is a blended spiral of mixed life energy, of course it is related to abundance. So it makes sense for the Euporia to reference this.

I think the main mistake people are making is thinking that Euporia is still a weapon related to Miquella in some way, when that aspect of it is cut content and actively contradicted by in game lore.

my mohg, miquella, and the haligtree timeline in loose bulletpoint format:

• Time: who knows, some point a little before the shattering. Mohg escaped the sewers and is assembling his dynasty, pureblood knight era and ansbach is much younger.

• Shortly after that: encounters Miquella. They have completely incompatible ideas of how things Should Be (Miquella wants to end all suffering, Mohg wants to worship his suffering). Miq tries to "fix" Mohg's pain with his charm. This is a surprise tool that will help (hurt) us later (and this is also when Ansbach fails to save Mohg)

• Shattering happens

• Miquella goes full speed ahead on his Haligtree plan. The Erdtree is unwilling to take in the graceless, but Miquella is still trying to find a way to Fix Everything without becoming exactly like his mom. So he invents Erdtree 2.

• Miquella realizes that the Haligtree is doomed. Failing every single attempt to save the world leading up to this, he accepts his fate and begins his journey to become a god, and sends Malenia to Radahn to make him fulfill their promise (one way or another)

• Mohg, completely taken by the charm, the Formless Mother, and the corruption of his Great Rune, becomes fully obsessed with Miquella, and believes him to be a solution to his ambitions of Lordship. While Miquella is asleep in the cocoon, and while Malenia is in Caelid, he sneaks into the Haligtree and steals Miq away, with the intent of using his Empyrean body for the Formless Mother (not unlike how Radahn is ascended with Mohg's remains)

• Game timeline: we arrive, we go to kill Mohg

• Game timeline (middle of SoTE): Miquella's soul, currently in the Realm of Shadow, learns of Mohg's defeat. In Castle Ensis, he also learns that a soul can be brought back with another's remains. Having completely abandoned his love and doubts and anything that could tell him this is a bad idea at this point, he goes through with using Mohg's body for the last thing he remembers of himself (his promise to Radahn).

This also, in an ironic twist of fate, also fulfills Mohg's desire to become his consort as well (in body if not in spirit)

the banished knights in castle sol are possibly meant to be Tarnished. they are the only banished knights that can use Urgent Heal

Incantation of the Two Fingers' faithful. The Two Fingers has high hopes for the Tarnished; that even if they should be wounded, even should they fall, they will continue to fight for their duty.

furthermore, in castle sol we can find a Furlcalling Finger Remedy (though possibly this is a game hint to summon people because Commander Niall is a tough fight on your own)

i think these Tarnished were captured and sent to Castle Sol as criminals, hence the exile soldiers. Castle Sol is a penal colony, the same as Stormveil Castle

Worn by soldiers sent to the penal colonies.

a penal colony calls to mind the justice system of the Erdtree Empire, and Rykard. this may be why there are albinaurics being tortured there, specifically with the Black Dumpling found elsewhere in Volcano Manor. it is possible that these were albinaurics that were trying to find the Haligtree, but were captured and sent to castle sol.

as for the Tarnished banished knights, there are abductor virgins in the courtyard of the Fortified Manor, and hints that for a time they were present in Leyndell, perhaps under the protection of the Two Fingers before the Demigods were declared political targets. Perhaps these Abductor Virgins were sent to clean up after that situation broke out, as well as to take care of any following Tarnished that would have showed up.
