Typically Barbie Fashionistas who represent a certain disability will have a fashion with a motif relating to their disability (diabetes Barbie (#242) has blue circles on her outfit and the Down’s Syndrome Barbies (#208 and #229) who have a blue and yellow palette, butterflies, and chevrons on their outfits). I have seen some people and organizations say that purple is a colour that can represent autism but there are several colours and symbols people die to represent autism, and with there being no confirmation from Barbie nor ASAN saying the dress colour has significance I decided not to mention it.

i think if someone is complaining about being deprived of an experience most people like them had (or at least one most people would’ve expected them to have) it’s almost never comforting to say “well i had that experience and it sucked, you’re lucky” because it’s not truly about the experience itself it’s about the sense of belonging it inspires right - not having it marks you as an Other and that feels really shitty! you can talk about how whatever thing sucked for you but just like… maybe at another time?
