All I want is a lotr-quality adaptation of The Old Kingdom
Yes please. It would be so beautiful. A good depiction of the magic system would be just perfection.

I’m so fascinated by people who seem to believe that analyzing media is somehow taking the joy out of it. Like. Do you not enjoy thinking? Does taking stuff apart and figuring out how it works not give you a hit of dopamine? And you get mad when you see people having fun in this way? What a sad, miserable way to engage with the world.

People on Tumblr love to subvert something that is already subverted and wind up with the normal thing again.

“Be careful with Mogget,” Sam warned, as Lirael succumbed to the temptation to scratch the cat’s furry white belly. “He’s nearly killed my mother in his unbound form. Three times, in fact, during the time she’s been the Abhorsen.”
By my count, Mogget attempts to kill Sabriel while he’s unbound twice in Sabriel. Which means either Sam’s got the numbers wrong or Sabriel found a reason to take Mogget’s collar off again at some point in the nineteen years between when she first uses Ranna (rather than the traditional Saraneth) to rebind him and when this conversation takes place — which means that she almost certainly had Saraneth to hand and yet she used Ranna for a second time.
Why? Is it because Mogget is more agreeable under Ranna’s influence? (He is.) Is it possible that Mogget said hey, before you take my collar off, use Ranna if you manage to bind me again because she’s my favourite sister and Saraneth is kind of a dick I’ll have chronic insomnia otherwise? I choose to believe it.
Insane curls on this boy.

I don’t want to hear any writing advice from Stephen king not because I think there would be no value in it but because whatever works for Stephen king is between him and god and that demon he made a pact with that lets him write 3000 words in one sitting daily.
HE HAS BEEN SOBER AND STILL WRITING FOR 30 FUCKING YEARS!!!
