I post what I post when I post it. There is no reason why. 29, NYC. If you’re confused why I follow you, I have a sideblog lol

I was debating pre- and post- smartphone existentialism with an older gentleman today and he stopped part way through and said “Why are you a security guard? Why aren’t you teaching this at some college somewhere?” And I didn’t know what to say so I went with “Well I used to make art but nobody pays an artist”

I want to invoke thought and wonder and introspection and encourage the passions of every soul I meet forever and ever and dig until I find the glorious potential for creation and experience and joy in every single one but unfortunately I must pay rent and so I stand, a meat shield, an NPC with unlockable dialogue

Fuck self-sufficiency. It's time for Interdependence. Always offer help and always accept it. Cook meals for the people you love. Grow fruits and vegetables and give them to your neighbors. The "independent" person is merely the perfect version of a Consumer, eating directly from the palms of Corporation. Fuck self-sufficiency. Need one another.

blending this with the common cruelty of your average person feels a little dangerous lol. people just aren't nice anymore.

Then we must learn how again.

to be a fan of both dracula and sherlock holmes is to have the widest experience possible on the question of “what would the author think of x” because bram stoker would be getting in months long twitter battles defending lucy while arthur conan doyle would come after anyone who asked him any question with a baseball bat

bram stoker: (with tears in his eyes, speaking with joy from the bottom of his heart) dracula is still popular???

acd: (with disgust and frustration so palpable you could spread it on bread) sherlock holmes is still popular???

Anyone else feeling burnt out by streaming services because any time you start a show the company expects an immediate audience and a fucking worldwide campaign of support or they’ll cancel it.

Stuff like “watching things in your own time around your busy life and work schedule might cause your show to be cancelled” is insane

Wasn't streaming supposed to be about the ability to watch things in your own time? Wasn't that, like, the main fucking draw?

isn’t it weird how hypercapitalism cannibalizes itself?

I refuse to seek out Ryan Reynolds' Tumblr account. If it has any value it will find it's way into my dash naturally. This is how the Tumblr ecosystem is meant to work.

Tbh I don't understand people wanting to scare off twitter users. Like, I enjoy the jokes and all, but like.

Guys. We want twitter users to come here. We want as many people to get off of twitter as possible. Tumblr's pride and joy is costing verizon a billion dollars. I'll put up with a million more annoying people if it means I can be a part of costing Elon Musk 44 billion dollars. Bankrupt that mfer. Let the bird app become a desolate wasteland. Let it be the new myspace.

Welcoming twitter users and teaching them to not be dicks on this website is an important step in costing Elon Musk 44 billion dollars. Do your part to make his investment worthless.

I think we need more radical acceptance that some people dislike us for reasons that make sense for their life experience. and we need to do this in a way that doesn't paint us as misunderstood victims because the fact of the matter is everyone is annoying to someone. you can't avoid that. and if someone is annoyed by you they aren't wrong about you being annoying and unlikable to them. the sooner we accept this the sooner we accept ourselves. we don't even like ourselves most of the time so why should we expect other people to uncritically enjoy every aspect of us regardless of our own internal struggle with our own extreme contrasts
