Let his flesh not be torn, let his blood leave no stain Though they beat him, let him feel no pain Let his bones never break, and however they try to destroy him Let him never die, let him never die
Wicked: For Good (2025)

Cynthia's delivery of "for the first time I feel wicked"
Jonathan's delivery of "Elphaba, we are going to be together always"
both of their deliveries of "It's not lying, it's looking at things another way"
these are all going to be living in my mind rent free for the foreseeable future. We are truly so unbelievably lucky we got them as our fiyeraba🥺🥺 I already miss them so much
I'm glad to hear Cynthia and Jonathan talk a bit more about Elphaba and Fiyero's relationship. No, it is not the most important part of the film. No, it is not the most important relationship in Elphie's story. (...nobody in this main cast or Jon M. Chu has EVER acted like it was either of those things. Just saying.) But it is still important. And from what I have read/heard, it sounds like Cynthia and Jonny really understand why these two characters fell for each other and love each other. So, I am very excited to see their version of this dynamic, especially As Long as You're Mine.
ohhhh my godddd when will people stop trying to flatten out the flaws of the women from wicked? it happens to glinda literally all the time for the sake of making gelphie less toxic, but now i'm seeing people do it to nessa and act like she genuinely did right by elphaba when she canonically fails to stand up for her, to her father, to their peers, or even when it's just them.
obviously it's complicated because, for one, she is being raised by the man who resents elphaba most of all (frex you're going to munchkin hell), and it is incredibly hard to be treated like you are better than someone for your entire childhood and not believe it somewhat. it is incredibly hard to see someone treated like they are deserving of what happens to them and not internalize that somewhat. and while this internalization is not her fault, it is a moral failing, and it does bear consequence on elphaba's life and her perception of herself. if nessa was always speaking in opposition to their father, or even privately telling elphaba that she was beautiful as she was or that she deserved better, she wouldn't react the way she does to both glinda and fiyero's acceptance of her.
additionally, her unwillingness to stand up for elphaba definitely connects to how othered she feels by her disability, and the lack of agency she is allowed by their father (that is disguised by the pampering). if she is hardly allowed to be her own person, it is naturally extremely difficult to speak up for her sister and risk the small amount of social power she feels she has. but again, just because this is an understandable fault doesn't make it excusable.
she is responsible for at least some of elphaba's misery, at least passively, and she does feel guilt for this, and you see it in marissa's performance, and it irks me that the harsh sides of her are being smoothed over. why can't female characters be mean spirited without being defined by it?
How anyone doubts Fiyero and his love is just insane. The man walked through a tornado to find his green girl wife some fierce and loyal protection. Saved her AGAIN from the Gale Force. He took the time to EXPLICITLY SAY: “Protect HER”. Reaffirming to everyone present of his love for Elphaba and thus confirming his intention to die for her safety. Held a gun to he’s ex fiancé’s head to buy her time to escape. In that 5 minutes of screen time he does more for Elphaba than anyone else in both films.
How do people doubt him. I DON’T UNDERSTAND.
gotta love how Elphaba thinks Fiyero is dead, sings a whole anthem about it being her villain origin story, captures Dorothy, yells at her a little, and then receives the message from Fiyero letting her know he's alive and IMMEDIATELY cancels her villain era
Cynthia Erivo via instagram:
I could write you an essay, a poem, Shakespearean prose, to describe what this journey has meant to me, what lessons this time has taught me, bought me. I could try to give a metric to the love I have felt and experienced. I could give a number to the stories I have heard. The truth is the numbers are too small and the words are not enough. So I'll simply say this. Take my hand and walk with me to the end of this road paved with gold and hopefully, the things that l've found, might find you too. Thank you for letting me be your Elphaba.
All my love, C
"He suddenly realizes that he is a part of the problem. He's completely playing into this huge system of evil power. [...] He goes from Winkie, arrogant prince to someone who's willing to shed everything. Power, his vanity, his body. He's prepared to lose it all for what's right. It's a radical act of devotion." - Jonathan Bailey about Fiyero's arc in Wicked: For Good.
WICKED FOR GOOD SPOILERS BELOW
idk guys i never had a problem with the “looking at things another way” bc wtf else was he supposed to say after she said he’s lying like is he gonna look her dead in the eyes and say nuh uh
Like I'm not trying to get political at the dinner table here but I also never had a problem with it because it actually is looking at things another way??? Her entire life people have literally been jumping and gasping in fear when they first see her because of her skin color but Fiyero didn't? I mean he was a little taken aback but everyone else sees one thing when they look at her, green. But Fiyero sees beauty and that quite literally is looking at things another way.
