Hi, I need you to know that your Karlach art is some of my favorite of her ever, thank you for drawing her so amazingly!

Thank you so much for saying so! I really love drawing her, and I’m glad it’s enjoyable!

I’m not really sure what else to say, but kind words mean a lot to me! Here’s a couple sketches I’ll color up soon:

Modern AU - Tav and Karlach, Shadowheart, and Lae'zel meeting up in a shopping district. I think Lae'zel is one of those people who has a fancy knife for every occasion, much to her own chagrin sometimes. She always says ‘this is the last one’ then something better crosses her path and she can’t help herself, whether it’s utility or kitchen or gardening or whatever.

Modern AU Karlach and her beloved motorcycle, the Vincent Black Shadow she bought with the first paycheck she got from Gortash that didn’t have to go to living expenses, and fully restored herself. It was a rough piece of work, but with time, dedication, and love she got it all tuned up and running perfectly - only for Gortash to take it for himself after he sold her away to Zariel (it was shiny and pretty and even if he couldn’t ride it - it seemed like a thing to have.) He let it molder in a garage for a decade, but after the main events of the story Karlach and Tav manage to get it back (Karlach in tears of joy of having it back and sorrow for its state), and Karlach puts all the love she can in getting it running perfectly again.

Speaking of playing around in the garage in the Modern AU - Karlach tinkers with her bike while Tav does some balance and strength stuff. Everyone needs some parallel play!

The building that Tav’s condo is in is managed by her uncle, Finch (dad’s side - a tiefling in his 60s, a fair bit younger than his brother.) When Karlach moved in, she needed a place to put her bike. Tav’s uncle rapidly approved the process for her to get a space for it in the garage when she agreed to his terms: He wanted to just come look at her bike sometimes. He loves vintage cars and bikes. You can catch him out there sometimes just… lovingly staring at it. Karlach finds it sort of sweet and amusing (yes, she’s taken him for rides - she loves Tav’s extended family).

Modern AU - Karlach showing Tav some maintenance things on her car (a small hatchback - she uses it mostly for traveling for martial arts competitions and big grocery runs… they both eat a lot of protein). Tav can do very basic things (top off fluids - check for obvious issues), but Karlach is much more of a gearhead and is happy to do deeper maintenance and to show Tav how (though she does mostly leave it to Karlach, Tav isn’t particularly confident with it though she’ll try under Karlach’s instruction.)

Mostly they’re just having fun playing in the building’s garage.

@lorithescrump posted a side-by-side so I wanted to too. Here’s the first and most recent pictures of the tief beef! They’ve gotten more on-model over the last two years - I’ve been drawing Karlach since late 2023 but didn’t start playing the game till early 2024 (therefore developing Tav then.) In 2024 I decided to stop fussing over my lines and just get loose with it and I’m still figuring out where that goes, but it’s been fun so far.

Funnily enough the second picture I did of them and the second most recent I have are both bathing as well - it is important to gently simmer your tief beef.

Biopsy results were good! Which means it’s still weird that my immune system isn’t bouncing back after chemo (I mean, it is possible I’ve got some autoimmune disorder going on, but we’re not ruling out that my body is just still recovering from chemo). But hey, it also means nothing new and horrible has come up, so I’ll take it. It’s further monitoring for now, but that’s nothing new.
