my glorious king maximus. i’m sorry you are trapped in a show with writers who don’t appreciate you. maximus, sole surviving shady sands NATIVE! he was born into a peaceful, happy community and had it ripped away from him. perhaps the ONLY member of his BOS chapter who truly means it when he says it is his duty to better this fallen world, because he remembers what a better world can look like. it’s why lucy wakes up a part of him he hadn’t accessed since the brotherhood wore down his spirit. seeing another person who truly wholeheartedly believes the world can be better and we should do the right thing to help get it there is what makes him snap into it and start making heroic choices.
my glorious king maximus who is willing to be the sword. willing to take up the hard, messy, violent tasks necessary to change things. who, when he believes his chapter has lost its way, that its leader’s mad lust for power will destroy them, is willing to throw his head on a pike and just try and kill him. maximus, who cares so deeply about defending the helpless and small that when the most important high ranking knight he’s ever met who has taken him under his wing and promised to elevate him, doesn’t hesitate to cut him down the INSTANT children’s lives are at stake, KNOWING it will cause a civil war. maximus the definition of ‘fix the problem in front of you’, always re-examining the present moment and acting in it.
my glorious king maximus who takes pride in his role, never shying away from the discipline it demands. who, despite being assigned a squire in s2, polishes his own armour. who passes on good advice to the young boy now holding the position he once endured nothing but abuse in. when he learns that thaddeus bullied him in order to throw the heat on to someone else, max internally vows to break that cycle, and he has.
my glorious king maximus the giant sweetheart actually!!!! who grins at lucy in absolute adoration, who shouts corny lines from his power armour at the beginning of fights. who is always trying to live up to his fathers claim that one day, he would grow up to be a good man. who lets lucy take the head, knowing what the brotherhood might do to him when he’s found out, despite only knowing her for days. because it was the right thing to do.
im sorry the writers clearly don’t know wtf to do with you this season and are serving you SCRAPS.
