You’re not overwhelmed, you’re overcommitted to what doesn’t nourish you.
the people who go "we shouldn't be so open about nudity because it could trigger someone's dysphoria" are like two steps max removed from "fat people being fat in public could trigger someone with an ed". like peoples' bodies are not the problem here, trying to restrict someone else's body because of how you personally feel is indistinguishable from conservative praxis. i'm sorry if that sounds harsh but there is basically no interpretation of "we need to control the bodies of [demographic]" that does not fall down the slippery slope of fascism.
languages that don't distinguish between formal and informal you are missing out on so much petty drama. my grandparents have two neighbours who once got into a huge fight over something honestly pretty trivial, so neighbour A said he was going to revoke neighbour B's du (informal you) privileges. neighbour B was like "okay but can i use du one last time?" and neighbour A was like "yeah go ahead", and neighbour B said "du arschloch" (you asshole). incredible.
"It's so fucked up women have to do sex work to survive" so trueee it's so fucked up we live in a capitalist society where you need to do work you don't want to do just to be alive. I'm so glad we're talking about ALL the jobs that are forced onto people, especially women, that are full of harassment. Thank God we're not just focusing on jobs that are already heavily stigmatized and shaming women for doing what's necessary to survive, even though every single person has to do that but for some reason it's immoral when it's a stripper instead of a fast food employee
"Sex workers don't want to be sex workers, they have to do it to make money" no fucking wayyy im sure that cashier being yelled at because someone brought an expired coupon loves her job and it's what she wants to do forever
I am a gender abolitionist and I think even if my wishes were realized and we got a world without gender people would still want to transition, they would just describe the process differently.
"I want to have soft skin and boobs" rather than "I want to be a cute girl", for example.
This is what TERFs, who only pretend to be gender abolitionists for optics while going out of their way to enforce gender, don't seem to get.
They pretend that if there were no gender roles no one would transition and trans people would cease to exist.
What's more accurate is that "trans" as a category would become incoherent but people would still have preferences about their bodies and would benefit from modifying them in ways that our current world considers to be heavily gendered.
Personally, I think it would be all upsides if you did not even have to convince a medical gatekeeper that you are really a girl deep down and grew up playing with dolls and trying to wear makeup before you're allowed to have tits. You should be able to get those at your local pharmacy no questions asked.

My ideal societal treatment of transitioning is that its like, finding a new, better job and/or moving cities
It's a big, positive life event, but it happens to people all the time. It's often celebrated casually. It just happens sometimes, though. Maybe people at your old job change their relationship with you, and maybe you fortify your relationship with people elsewhere. You can mention where you used to work casually without it being a huge deal. You can joke about people quitting their jobs and becoming a goat farmer without it being a huge deal.
Like. I should be able to quip "have you tried estrogen?" to cis guys and have it laughed off with the same intensity as my jokes about "just quit and become a baker". I should be able to talk about my experiences as a guy like I talk about my experiences in my hometown that was kinda shitty. I might bond with other trans people more based on that shared experience but should still be welcomed into the gender I am, again, like you would treat someone who just isn't from around here and might need to settle in.
Its a big event, but I don't want it to be an unusual event. I should be able to say that Jim from high school is Joanne now with the same punch as saying she moved to LA.
I'm so fucking tired of every time I mention some random fact of my existence, it becomes a sociopolitical soapbox, one way or the other. Is my experience relevant to a lot of sociopolitical issues? Of course. Am I engaging with them? Of course. But it shouldn't be this huge thing. It should just happen sometime and people should be okay with it.
the awesome thing about the Netflix show Dark is that it truly does not for one fucking second hold your hand. Oh you were looking away from the screen for two frames? Well this guy is the same person as this guy and also his own uncle and you just missed that. Fuck you. Every plot point matters and there will be a test. Take notes or die idc this is what it takes to view masterful television. The not so awesome thing about Dark is that because it’s such a cohesive and tightly wrapped story, if you’re like me and you’ve watched the first season a few times, the second season once, and never have time for the third, you’re going to have to start all over from the beginning AGAIN when you want to rewatch because otherwise you won’t be able to keep the characters straight and miss all of the plot. Even though you’ve watched the first few episodes, like, a lot.

You’ve heard of Men Loving Men (MLM) and Multi Level Marketing (MLM) but I would like to propose a new concept wherein I date two men who each date two men who each date two men etc, which I like to call Multi Level Men Loving Men, or MLMLM
Step 2 is gathering together all the MLMLMs into a single monolithic syndicate referred to as a gathering of Multi Level Men-Loving Men Loving Multi Level Men-Loving Men, also known as an MLMLMLMLMLM
We will then perform a coup d’état against the greater Seattle polycule
