its complicated but not really. two different attachment styles and reactions to a parent that's barely around.
they both still really love her lots 🫶
in opal's absence (and if the neighbors aren't available), heathie spends most of her time alone in the mountain or camping at the diner table. sonja's off loitering and trespassing where he shouldn't be whenever hes bored.
