wish ppl remembered MK001 more because having an astronaut pilot front has its benefits of hilarity + is an outlet for the system to have fun

- thinking people opening a window will let all the oxygen out and insisting they all be locked. marlene and frenchie put baby locks on the window so he knows theyre shut tight

- forgetting gravity is a thing and dropping whatevers in his hands to talk. looking up to find things he let go of and being confused when they're on the ground. lost a lot of glass dishes this way

- plants and animals exist ? werewolves arent everywhere ? wow. awesome. a little scared of large dogs but he'll pet them after knowing they wont hurt him.

- going outside takes some convincing so most of the time he fronts at home/in a space where he feels safe

- infodumping about the moon and astronomy :)

- really really loves space shooters. makes him feel more comfortable

- after marc and jake helped dia decorate her room they got those glow in the dark star stickers to put on the ceiling/walls for MK001. a little silly thing but the effort is appreciated

- hates star wars fuck star wars. does not help that marc and steven like star wars and has memorabilia around

Y’all I’m kinda worried about the Moon Knight show in a way that I wasn’t really before? Like, the sheer lack of Jewish people working on the show in general, the casting decision, and the fact that I’ve heard The Umbrella Academy has blatant antisemitism in its second season when the guy in charge of the show is supposedly a part of that...

Either they’re gonna make my boy no longer Jewish, or it’s gonna be Jewishness through the pov of a lot of non Jewish people and honestly I’m not looking forward to that either /:

don’t really have much to say except the people dismissing Marc’s Jewish upbringing suck. The casting so far, sucks.

There’s a lot of evidence in the Moench run (MK vol.1, 1980) that Moon Knight is a separate entity from Marc, Steven, and Jake, with his own motivations and silly dramatic way of speaking. As far as I recall, he’s usually referred to as his own person (in the, the, uh. What’re those narration text-boxes called? You know the ones...) by the narrator. He’s got his own opinions on the rest of the system--wants to move past Marc, likes Steven (but thinks he’s boring), is “comfortable as” Jake--and acts differently from them.

Other runs usually back this up in some way, iirc? At least, y’know, the good ones typically do. Huston (’06 writer) couldn’t be assed to put thought into his writing, Bemis (’18 writer) is a piece of shit, and Marc Spector: Moon Knight (early-to-mid 90s) was only about Moon Knight in name.

There’s also a really good post here by mr robocops-a-christ-allegory that talks about moon knight fronting during his stint with the west coast avengers. I’m not sure how “canon” people consider the WCA to be to moon knight overall but. I like it, it’s fun and it’s silly. so.

you ever think about the fact that marc and jean-paul couldve been a couple bc jean admits he was in love with marc for over 10-ish years despite going thru all the trauma that came w being in the vigilante business. and he told marc mulitple times, straight up, canonically, "i love you and i would do anything for you, even die" and marc was too mentally ill to think that meant anything but haha hes such a good friend. bros for life. can you imagine being jean after meeting marc at the restaurant you run with your twink husband and telling him all this and all he says is "i didnt know you were gay ??????? why didnt you tell me ???? i thought we were bffs ???"

Am I the only one who isn't thrilled Oscar Isaac is in talks for Moon Knight? I love him to bits, but he just isn't Marc. We already went through this with the Maximovs, that the characters already have an established heritage that's a key point of their story, and Marc Spector is from a Russian Orthodox Jewish family with a Rabbi father, making his life as a mercenary and being chosen to represent an Egyptian god/extra-dimensional being Khonshu one of his personal conflicts.

Yeah, Disney needs to cast more non-white actors, but not at the expense of erasing another Jewish character

I'm excited that Moon Knight is getting their own show because he's always been one of my favorites and he hardly ever gets acknowledged except when he's compared to Batman, but are we really expecting Disney to write a character with DID that isn't completely insulting??
