In my au though, after the fight where he’s suddenly more in tune with his senses and the digital world and can tell the weather is about to dramatically change. There’s a reason for that. He’s a lot more of an “actual digimon” than he was before, but he’s still taking it as he learned a cool lesson and this is normal. Til he devolves. For everyone else though, up til that point they kind of just figured Takuya got away and made it back in time to help! Hooray!!
Except Kouji. A lot was happening between duskmon essentially exploding and everyone getting captured, but after he took a hit and Takuya shielded him from that last attack, kouji essentially saw him vanish into data like when a digimon dies. He’s pretty damn sure he saw Takuya die. And him getting shielded is the only reason he got away without being taken prisoner too.
So when Takuya devolves and he’s not. Takuya. He’s got a bit of a different view on the whole thing. And a few extra tons of guilt and blaming himself both for their argument before the duskmon fight and for the fact that Takuya shielded him. It’s not gonna be easy to get him or Takuya to be straightforward about any of that though. This leads to him being pretty standoffish and weird about the whole thing. He’s trying really hard to treat Takuya like literally nothing changed. He’s also suddenly a lot better at picking up on the emotions Takuya tries to play brave and silly about all the damn time. In account of having a dog at home and Takuya suddenly having a tail and some animal body language tells. It’s not 1 to 1 but it’s enough for kouji to be like ok he’s actually terrified even when takuya’s laughing and joking. Unfortunately Kouji is still kind of clueless on what to do with this information.
Junpei is a bit mistrusting of the whole thing, but once he’s convinced this isn’t some trick he mainly just feels bad for Takuya. He’s also the first to try and lighten the mood with teasing. (Which Takuya plays along with like he’s offended but it’s such a relief from all the pity and melodrama early on) he’s the most squeamish about Takuya acting a little animal sometimes. And takes awhile to get used to the tail.
Izumi is really freaked out by the whole thing for about 30 seconds but she adapts quick. She thinks of reasons and risks first but has better sense than to voice it without evidence, but she doesn’t have the same context that kouji does so she doesn’t realize what actually caused it. She decides cherubimon must have done it and can fix it, so that’s getting lumped in with the whole defeating cherubimon mission. She tries not to treat him differently at first but definitely notices how relieved Takuya looks when Junpei starts teasing him. So she acts like him being a little monkey guy isn’t a huge deal. Takuya was kind of always that weird anyway. She won’t hesitate to step on his tail or flick his nose if he’s getting in the way or being a bit of a jerk LMFAO
Tomoki is the most determined and confident that they’ll fix it, but he’s also the one that kind of embraces Takuya being a Digimon “for the time being” the most too. He’s not bothered by Takuya acting a bit less human than he used to or running around on all fours without thinking about it. Why should he be!! He’s still Takuya! He’s pretty worried about him though, he can tell there’s something bothering Takuya that he’s not mentioning.
And even though kouichi isn’t here yet at this point, I’ll include this- but kouichi never really even got to know Takuya as a human. Like he knows he used to be, but he doesn’t really have any reason to think Takuya’s being weird. He does notice that Takuya kind of flinches away a few times when he first joins the group, even if outwardly he’s being just as friendly as ever.
