Okay, can I just ask if the point was for Cloud and Tifa to always end up together and for Zack and Aerith to always end up together what was the point of the entire game? Why would Aerith or Cloud have even needed to be in the game? Why couldn’t Tifa be the Ancient who saves the Planet? Or why couldn’t Zack be the one who grieves over the loss of Aerith?

I just really don’t see the point of the entire story if Cloud and Aerith really meant nothing to each other.

I guarantee there is not a single piece of ‘evidence’ against Cloud x Aerith that I haven’t heard before. My favorite is that Cloud and Tifa had a realistic slow burn romance. Realistic? Bro, it’s realistic that your first crush grew up to be attractive and so did you? I don’t even share who my first crush was. Spoiler alert: he liked to dress in Halloween costumes any day of the year. I certainly am not looking to reconnect with him. A romance between Cloud and Tifa is no more ‘realistic’ than a relationship between Cloud and Aerith. Nor, does it really have to be. Fantasy is literally in the name of the game.

But, seriously, like what a lame story if everyone ends up happily ever after with the first person they had a crush on.
