Both Red Son and Mk have their strengths and weaknesses, but they are able to cover and support each other near flawlessly. Red Son's princely upbringing and incredibly high IQ gives him strategic knowledge, etiquette, his understanding of magic, prowess in his field, and the ability to think his way out of most situations, but with his fiery temper and more sheltered childhood he's rash and prone to losing his cool. Mk, on the other hand, has a happy and friendly personality, overwhelming strength, high battle IQ, sheer dumb luck, emotional IQ, and a strong will to do what he thinks is right, but he's more prone to moving without thinking and going through life unprepared. They balance and support each other in a way that's almost addictive.
Their romance is very similar. Each balancing the other. Red Son is more prone to large shows of affection, gifts to show the world how much he loves his partner, declarations, throwing grand parties to show off his wealth and how far he's willing to go for Mk, cooking him elaborate meals, ect. Mk, on the other hand, is a bit more emotional, giving gifts that are hand made from small pieces of jewelry to homemade food skewed toward Red Son's preferences, brushing his hair to shining perfection, sneaking kisses where he can and happily laughing about how red Red Son's face turns, holding hands in every moment he can. They're two puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly and a balance that can never be upset.
