WARNING: I might've discovered a brand new kind of scam account on here... SPECIFICALLY TARGETING FURRY ARTISTS.
okay so a bit of a while back I was followed by two suspicious accounts, which after a bit of investigation I swiftly blocked. Then RECENTLY another one of these exact accounts followed me, same thing blocked their ass. They weren't like normal standard "porn bots" no no, they were possibly actively made to trick actual artists on here instead of like. the 0.0000001% of cishet conservative males on this webbed site.
THINGS TO NOTE:
- They're explicitly trying to appeal to furries, as you've read from the title
- Their usernames are always (feminine first name) + (last name) + (random two-digit number)
- Their bios have barely anything on who they are as people, seem VERY stilted and "artificial" compared to normal artist bios on this website, and they ALWAYS have a chunk of their bio dedicated to saying they can take commissions
- Also the art on their pfps/banners are blatantly stolen from other artists and sometimes don't even match the same art style.
- The only "original art" they have on their blogs are low-quality oc ref sheets/drawings that also look blatantly stolen, and don't even match the quality of their pfp/banner art. The rest are reblogged.
- The messages on the art also have the same cadence of "hope you like it <3" and the weird scattering of unrelated tags seemingly to help with reach rather than actually categorize an artwork
- They seem to act like they're already cemented artists, despite the fact that if you check their blog they barely even posted anything on there. It's always going to be at least ten different scattered reblogs from different random furry artists, mostly semi-popular, but not always. (this here was the ONLY OTHER THING this "michelleryan56" individual had on their blog)
- If you check their archives you can see how... suspiciously recent they seem to have started posting and reblogging on here, since there's barely anything on here that goes backwards past November/December 2025 (For reference these accounts followed me at least 1–2 months ago. Which is REALLY suspiciously close to the timeframe of these posts...)
- Yet for SOME FUCKING REASON if you check their "following" tab they seem to be following AT LEAST HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT RANDOM ACCOUNTS
- Not convinced? This was the size of my FUCKING MOBILE WEBSITE SCROLL WHEEL WHEN I WAS GOING DOWN THIS FUCKING LIST. They followed THAT MANY FUCKING PEOPLE IN THAT SHORT-ASS AMOUNT OF TIME. NO NORMAL HUMAN BEING COULD EVER DO THAT. THIS HAS TO BE A BOT.
- For further reference, here's the third of these furry scam accounts that randomly followed me, this time one or two days ago. Note the exact same patterns I've pointed out above (though this time they don't mention commissions in their bio (they STILL do mention a "client" in their only art piece), but it still has the same stilted cadence as before and even the blog title has the same bow emoji as Daisy Martinez's.)
Anyways I don't know what their motive is (besides money), who the hell even made them, and any of the risks of actually contacting them, but for any art-savvy furries out there: block, report for spam/scam, you know what to do. They're kinda interesting to gawk at as like "why the hell would someone make this" but still. I'm not even a furry what do these fuckers even want outta me
